Patrick

I logged off as someone sat down in front of me. I glanced at Dad and closed the laptop.

"Is someone wrong?" Dad asked me.

"What do you mean?"

"I've never seen you get upset over wifi." Dad gave me a sideways glance.

I blew air past my lips.

"Talk to me, Pat."

"I've been talking to someone online."

My dad looked at me.

"But I have a slight issue."

"What's the issue?"

"There's another girl."

My dad cocked his head and squinted his eyes. "Wait. What?"

I rubbed my palms on my jeans. "I've been talking to two girls."

My dad's brows raised.

"I started chatting with Bubbles, and she's great. Then you have Rowan."

"Rowan!"

"Yeah, we talked." I gave my dad a sheepish look.

"Boy, you sound like Romeo."

I gave my dad an incredulous look.

"Pat, you're talking to two girls. If you want to pursue someone, you'll have to cut one loose."

I sighed.

"The worst thing you can do is lead on a girl."

"I know. But how do you choose?"

"You do."

I leaned on the table and ran my hand through my hair.

"Let's head back to the house. We'll discuss your situation."

Rowan

Sage dragged me out of the rental house to head to the bakery. Leave it to Sage to think of her stomach.

As we walked to the bakery, we talked. While we were busy, I wasn't paying attention and bumped into someone. "Sorry."

"No worries."

I glanced at Patrick with his dad. My brows lifted as Patrick smiled. "I didn't know you were going here to school."

"Yeah, I transferred with my brothers."

Patrick's dad and Sage watched us.

"So, what are you studying?" I asked.

"Anatomy."

I grinned.

"Okay, that's enough discussion about human anatomy," Pat's dad said, guiding Pat away from us.

I couldn't help but laugh.

"Come on, Giggles," Sage said, leading me away.

I glanced at Rowan as she and Sage walked away.

Dad turned my head forward. "Don't make me hose you down."

"I'm not Romeo."

"You're a close second."

I rolled my eyes, and we entered the house.
