"Kevin, do you really have to work late tonight?" I asked, pouting my lips.
Kevin sighed, holding onto my hands as he swayed them back and forth.
"Sadly, yes. We need the money." He softly said, looking at the floor.
I smirked, "I make money, you know. I make a decent amount of money from ballet." I said.
Kevin sighed, "It's just nice to have more, you know that." He said, looking into my eyes.
I frowned, "Just one night?" I asked.
"I get the results tonight, we'll find out everything." I said.
Kevin sighed, "I can't, baby. I'm sorry." He said, kissing my lips.
"If you're still up I'll see you after." He smirked.
I sighed, "Fine, fine.. You better get going then." I said, letting go of his hands.
"Bye, baby." Kevin waved at me, opening the front door.
I crossed my arms, "Bye." I frowned, watching Kevin walk out of the apartment.
I sighed, slouching down on the couch.
I threw my arms to the side of me as I grabbed the phone.
I started dialing Janet's number. I shouldn't be alone all night..
"Hello?" Janet's voice rang.
"Hey, Janet. It's Mia!" I smiled.
"Oh, Mia! How have you been?" Janet chirped.
I sighed, "I could've been better... Kevin is at work for the night and Mike is in bed.." I explained.
"Oh, do you want me to come over?" Janet suggested.
I slowly shook my head, "No, it's a bit late for that.."
"Oh, come on, Mia! Have some fun with me!" Janet chuckled.
I raised my eyebrow, staying silent.
"Not in that way, my god!" Janet laughed.
I smirked, "Fine, fine.. Come over." I mumbled.
"Great! I'll bring a gift over, we're going to have a blast!" She chirped.
I smirked, "Alright, hurry over." I said.
"Mhm." Janet mumbled, hanging the phone up.
I sighed, putting the phone down. Guess it's a girl's night..
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I crossed my arms over my loose sweatshirt.
I heard Janet knock on the door.
I smirked, suddenly feeling excited as I opened the door.
"Come in!" I chirped, moving out of the way.
Janet giggled as her and La Toya walked in, both carrying a bottle of wine.
I giggled, "What's this for?" I asked, closing the door.
"We're going to have some fun, Mia!" La Toya chirped.
I chuckled. "I have Mike to w-"
"You said he's asleep?" Janet asked.
"Well, he is but I-"
"Oh, come on!" Janet nudged me.
I sighed, "Fine, fine! But not too much." I chuckled.
"Woo!" La Toya cheered as Janet and her started opening the wine bottles.
I walked over to the kitchen, grabbing three glasses.
"Make yourself at home." I smiled.
Janet smirked, pouring the drinks. "I've been working on a song, do you wanna hear it?" Janet smirked.
I smiled widely, "Of course!" I said.
We all grabbed out drinks, making our way to the couch.
Janet stood in front of La Toya and I, clearing her throat.
"Alright.." She mumbled, straightening her shirt out.
As I was walkin' by
Saw you stanin' there
With a smile
Lookin' shy
You caught my eye
Janet tried not to giggle as she pointed to me.
I smirked.
Thought you'd want to hang
For a while
Well I'd like to be with you
And you know it's Friday too!
La Toya cheered, considering it was Friday.
I hope you can fine the time
This weekend to relax and unwind.
Janet stood there for a moment, thinking.
"That's all I'll share with you both for now." She chuckled, grabbing her class as she sat in between La Toya and I.
"I loved it!" I smiled.
"Really?" Janet smiled widely.
"Yeah, it's catchy!" I smirked.
I drank a sip of wine.
"Oh, come on now.." La Toya smirked.
"Have a little more!" She said, tilted my glass up causing me to drink more.
I smirked, swallowing the wine. "Thanks.." I mumbled.
We all sat there awkwardly, drinking the wine.
"How is Michael doing?" I softly asked Janet.
Janet smirked, looking at me. "He misses you bad, Mia." She said, drinking.
I blushed, "Oh, why me? Michael can have any girl he wants, it can't be me." I mumbled, drinking from my glass.
"Right, right.. Well, it's you he wants and needs." La Toya smirked.
I blushed again, "I'm with Kevin." I said.
Janet started laughing.
I furrowed my eyebrows, "What?" I softly chuckled.
"You sounded so vain when you said that!" Janet smirked.
"I'm with Kevin." Janet mocked me, moving her shoulders.
I playfully whacked her arm, "I did not sound like that." I softly said, feeling embarrassed.
"Mhm, you keep tellin' yourself that, sugar." Janet mumbled into her glass.
I giggled. "Honestly, how is the tour going with him?" I asked.
La Toya and Janet shrugged, "He just can't wait to see you." La Toya said.
I smirked, "That makes us both.." I murmured.
"What was that?" Janet smirked.
My eyes widened, "I-I said let's dance!" I exclaimed, putting my glass down as I jumped up from the couch.
"Oo, put the radio on!" La Toya suggested.
I smirked, skipping towards the wall, plugging the stereo in.
I slowly turned it on.
A nice bass started playing.
"Oh god.." I mumbled.
"Speak of the Devil!" Janet giggled as we heard Michael's song Bad started to play.
Your butt is mine. Michael's voice echoed through the silent home.
"Turn it up!" La Toya cheered, getting up from the couch.
I sighed, turning the radio up louder.
Gonna take you right.
Just show your face
In broad daylight.
Ah.
Janet and La Toya started dancing to the beat, snapping their fingers and everything.
I giggled, watching the sisters dance.
I'm telling you
On how I feel
Ah
Gonna hurt you mind
Don't shoot to kill.
Come on, come on
Lay it on me, ah, all right..
I'm giving you
To the count of three
Ah
To show your stuff
Or let it be
Ah
I'm telling you
Just watch your mouth
Ah
I know your game
What you're about.
"Come on, Mia!" La Toya giggled, taking my hand as we all started jumping.
I blushed, feeling embarrassed to dance.
I usually don't dance to anything but classical...
Well, they say the sky's the limit
And to me that's really true, dah.
But my friend, you have seen nothing.
Just wait 'til I get through
I started feeling the music as we all started screaming to the chorus.
Because I'm Bad!
We posed and squatted, dancing oddly but for fun.
I'm Bad!
Come on! (Really, really, bad.)
You know I'm bad!
I'm bad!
You know it! (Really, really, bad.)
You know I'm bad! I'm bad!
Come on, you know. (Really, really, bad.)
And the whole world has to answer right now just to tell you once again.
Who's Bad?
I started laughing, realizing how stupid we must look.
"My god, Mia! Don't stop now!" Janet laughed.
"I think the wine is getting to you two already!" I giggled.
Suddenly there was a loud knock on my door.
We all stopped, staring at the door.
I rushed towards the stereo, turning it down.
"It was probably just the neighbors." I suggested.
Janet and La Toya slowly nodded.
"So much for that...." La Toya mumbled.
I smirked. "Sorry." I said.
"Oh, it's fine, Mi-" Janet was interrupted with another loud bang on the door.
I softly sighed, "One moment, please." I softly said, rushing towards the front door.
I swung the door open, "Yes?" I politely said.
"M-M-Mia Gordy, this came for you in the m-m-m-m-m-mail..." Steven from next door stuttered, handing me an envelope.
I sighed, placing one hand on my hip. "Why are you going through my mail, Steven?" I softly said, taking the envelope.
"N-N-N-No, the m-m-m-m-mail man told me it was urgent." Steven said, shaking.
I frowned, "Thank you, Steven." I nodded.
Steven rubbed his hands together, "N-N-N-N-N-No p-p-p-p-problem, M-M-Mia." He said.
I forced a small smile as I quickly shut the door.
"Who was it?" La Toya curiously asked.
I shrugged, reading the envelope.
I gasped, "It's from Doctor Robert.." I softly said, my eyes widening.
I looked up at Janet and La Toya. "Keep playing music and having fun, just...."
I sighed, "Give me a moment.." I mumbled, rushing towards my bedroom.
I closed my door, hearing the music blare from the living room.
My hands started shaking as I opened the envelope.
Oh gosh.. I shivered, taking the paper out.
I closed my eyes shut, taking a deep breath. Think happy thoughts, Mia. Puppy's, kitties..
I opened my eyes as I carefully started reading the letter from Doctor Robert.
Mia Gordy,
There is good news and bad news for you, my dear.
I might as well tell you both in no order.
From your blood tests, we'll be needing to schedule you for some appointments in the near future.
Congratulations, Ms. Gordy.
You're pregnant!
My eyes widened. Oh my god, no.. What? I... I took a deep breath.
Another baby? I mean..
Sure, sure. W-Why not?
I read the rest of the letter.
The bad news is you'll be needing to be careful for a while, Ms. Gordy.
I can't exactly make it out that your baby will make it alive with what is coming next.
My heart started racing.
From your blood test, we have also found out that you are HIV-Positive and will be needing a certain medication for you and your baby.
I felt my eyes water as I started crying.
"No, no!" I cried.
I'm not saying your baby has HIV but it is most likely.
Very sorry.
Congratulations again,
Doctor Robert.
I threw the paper down as I curled up into a ball.
"I can't, I can't, I can't! I CAN'T!" I cried.
There was a knock on my door, "Mia? What's going on?" Janet asked.
I shook my head as I started to shiver, not being able to say much.
"I can't, I can't, I can't.." I cried.
I can't.
I just can't.
