"Alright, baby.." I cooed, helping Mike figure his shapes out.
He may not be able to hear me but I don't care.
"Let's try that again." I smirked, handing the shapes to Mike.
Mike stared at the board intensely, placing a square in the square hole.
I smiled widely, "Yay, Mickey!" I giggled, clapping my hands.
Mike giggled as he watched me cheer.
"Try another one, baby." I cooed, pointing to the triangle.
Mike stared at the board again intensely, grabbing the triangle piece.
He was silent for a moment as he tried fitting the triangle into the circle.
I softly sighed, "No, no, baby. Try again." I cooed, pointing to the triangular hole again.
It's been a few months since Michael was here.
Sadly the last memory I'll ever have of him is our fight. It's been hell since then.
Kevin went back into cocaine becoming addicted again. Thankfully, he didn't force me into doing drugs this time.
I haven't tried to get a hold of Michael at all since he left for his Bad World Tour. Why? I haven't found the words to say to him.
Sure I want to say sorry to him by the way I acted but I meant every word. He at least deserved the truth.
You know, Michael always used to ask me for the truth when it came to my life... And the one time I give it to him he flips out.
I think this'll be a good break for the both of us. It hurts me not being able to see Michael everyday but I've been through this before with him.
Just not two whole years.
There was a sudden knock on the door.
I furrowed my eyebrows. Kevin shouldn't be back from work yet.. I thought, getting up from the floor.
I walked towards the door, quickly opening it.
My eyes widened as a smile grew upon my face.
"Janet!" I chirped, hugging Janet tightly as she smiled widely at me.
"Mia, I've missed you so much!" She giggled.
I smirked, "I've missed you too, how was the tour?" I asked her, closing the front door as we walked towards Mike.
Janet shrugged, "It was amazing!" She chuckled.
Janet glared at Mike, "Wow.. He's gotten taller!" She giggled.
I smirked, "He's three, Janet. Mike's gotta grow." I chuckled.
Janet smirked, placing one hand on my shoulder.
I glanced up at her.
"You know, Michael told me everything that happened while I was gone.." She softly said.
I sighed, staring at the ground.
"Janet, I-"
"I'm sorry to hear about Mike's condition." She said.
I raised an eyebrow. It's not about Michael? That's a first.
I softly sighed, forcing a small smile. "It's alright, Janet. I'm teaching Mike things, he'll get through it." I said, looking at Mike.
Janet leaned closer to me, "Michael also told me about your fight.." She softly said.
I sighed loudly, dragging my feet against the floor as I walked towards the couch.
"Janet, I don't want to talk about that." I said feeling irritated, slouching against the couch.
Janet frowned, quickly walking towards me. "You'll feel better if you talk about it." She said, gently nudging me.
I glared at her, "I have nothing to say." I said, crossing my arms.
Janet sighed, "Michael calls me every chance he gets and asks me about you. That boy knows I'm on tour and doesn't know!" She giggled.
I frowned.
"He misses you a lot, Mia. We have had so many long conversations in these past few weeks just about you." Janet said, staring at me.
I glared at her, "Why doesn't he call me?" I softly asked.
Janet sighed, "He prefers seeing you in person." Janet softly said.
I smirked, "As if that's gonna happen within the year." I mumbled.
Janet nudged me, "Come on, Mia." She breathed.
I sighed, "I have nothing to say to him. I'm not flying across the globe to speak to him. I have Mike to watch and I have Kevin."
Janet groaned, "Oh God, here we go again... Kevin this, Kevin that. Enough, Mia!" Janet scolded.
"Look, Janet.. Michael told me he'll see me in two years. Tell him I'm counting everyday." I softly said.
Janet frowned, "Fine, I will." She murmured.
Janet looked at Mike, "How is he doing?" Janet asked, pointing to Mike.
I sighed, "He's alright.. Mike is still a happy baby!" I smirked.
"He's getting his shapes down, he can walk, go to the restroom, talk a little.." I said, my voice trailing off.
Janet softly chuckled, "Sounds like he's doing well." She smiled.
I smirked, "Yeah."
"I just wish he could hear." I frowned.
Janet scooted closer to me, "One day, Mia. You'll see." She smiled.
I smirked, "I guess it's good he can't hear. I wouldn't want little Mike to hear his mommy and daddy yell." I giggled.
Janet let out a nervous laugh. "Yeah, how is that going?"
I shrugged, "It's been the same." I honestly said, looking at her.
Janet looked like she was about to tell me something but quickly closed her mouth.
"Kevin has been cheating on me.." I admitted, rubbing my arm.
Janet's eyes widened, "What?! Mia!" She exclaimed.
"Why the hell are you still with him then?!" She raised her voice.
I sighed, "We have Mike together a-and Janet, you know it's complicated." I reasoned.
Janet shook her head, "How do you know?" She softly asked.
I frowned, "Late work nights, phone calls... Hell, I even keep finding different clothing that aren't mine." I sighed.
"Mia, I'm so sorry." Janet softly said, rubbing my back.
I shrugged, "It's okay. I'm used to doing things alone anyway." I firmly said, looking up at her.
"Being a single mother is tough, huh?" Janet frowned.
I shook my head, "I'm still with Kevin, Janet. It just feels like I'm alone all the time. Kevin still loves me, he just.."
"Needs something more?" Janet said, finishing my sentence.
I nodded, "Yeah, considering they are all bigger women, yes." I sighed.
"Mia, you shouldn't have to go through with that." Janet said.
I shook my head, "I'm fine with it. Honest." I said with sincere.
"Mike is the most important right now." I said, staring at Mike.
"I just wish he could hear." I mumbled.
Janet squinted her eyes at she focused on my face, "What's that, Mia?" She softly said.
I furrowed my eyebrows, "What's what?" I asked, confused.
"Your eyelids look purple." Janet softly said, pointing at my eye.
I frowned, "I don't know." I shrugged.
"I've been very tired lately.. Kevin keeps me up at night." I confessed.
Janet smirked, "I didn't need to know that.." She mumbled.
I giggled, playfully hitting her arm. "I didn't mean it like that."
I thought for a moment. "Actually I did. Yes, I mean it like that."
Janet gasped, hitting me. "Mia! You're so naughty!" She giggled.
I blushed, "He's my boyfriend, Janet! My God!" I giggled.
Janet smirked, "The way he does you you should be glad he's just your boyfriend." She lowly said.
I chuckled, "I am glad."
Very glad, actually.
