Plot: The reader has always been admiring Audrey from afar, seeing her all around Skid Row. The reader really likes Audrey, but she doesn't know how to tell her. The reader realizes that her chances with a taken woman, who the reader has hardly even said hi to before, are very low. That is, until Orin disappears. The reader takes the chance to talk to Audrey before Seymour can, and they hit it off from there.
Any additional notes: The only person who knows about the reader's attraction towards Audrey is their best friend. The reader's friend is very supportive about her and Audrey, and that's where it all relates to the prompt

I quietly write in my journal, planning my week and getting ready for work. I start to write, but I get interrupted by the door of my bedroom being flown open, and a figure pulls me from my desk.
"(Y/N)!!!!! GUESS WHAT?!" (B/f) screeches in my face as she spins my around my room.
"Oh my god calm down!" I respond, trying to pull myself from her iron grip. "What's the matter??"
"Guess who's gone missing??"
"Oh my god someone went missing?? Who??"
"Not the point- Orin went missing do you know what that means?"
"Oh my god Audrey is going to be destroyed!" I yell out and try to get out of her arms to find the heart broken girl.
"Exactly, how's your time to make a move!" (B/f) tries to reason, but I shake my head and look at her with a perplexed expression.
"You are such a sick fuck." I scoff and pull myself away, running out the door and going towards the place Audrey normally hangs out, which is the flower shop. I walk on the street and find her sitting with her knees to her chest and tears on her face.
"Audrey! Hey. I'm uhh- my names (Y/n). I know you don't know me but I just heard what happened to uhh.. to Orin and I wanted to help." I try to explain, my heart thumping and my hands sweating. She looks up at my, her mascara smeared under her eyes and an upset frown plastered to her face.
"O-Oh.. Hi.." She sniffs, and looking back down. I sit next to her and hand her a slip of paper with my number on it. She looks up and looks at the paper with questionable eyes.
I smile half heartedly as she takes it, and begin to stand up, but she grips my arm and she quietly asks me to stay. I sit down and caress her in my arms as she cries her heart out.
Months go by as I help Audrey look for Orin, searching the streets, the alleys, and the upper parts of the city. We have to endure the phone calls from people with fake info and just looking for the reward. And after those months Orin comes back home to Audrey, making her as happy as can be and abandoning me as her love interest and running back into Orin's arms.
As I stare and watch them from a far, I can't help but feel heartbroken as I watch the girl I love gallop off with her own love.
And all I have to show for it was a simple hello.
