EXO / Mafia AU - Their S/O's drink is poisoned

Minseok:

You and Minseok were supposed to have a date night after he returned from a job but once he did, he showed up with so much blood on his white shirt that you had to do a double-take, thinking he had left home that morning wearing a maroon-colored shirt instead of a white one.

Since you had reservations, Minseok drove you to the restaurant and asked you to wait by the bar while he changed into a different shirt in the bathroom. He apologized a million times for making you wait but you were just glad the blood on his shirt wasn't his. Everything else didn't matter.

You sat down by the bar, ordered yourself a drink, and waited. Within seconds, a guy found a place by your side. Right as he opened his mouth to say something, another guy sat down on the other side of you.

"Hey, love," the one on your left said, winking at you and then shooting a smile at the guy on your right, and thus, letting you know that the two of them knew each other.

"Hi," you replied, trying to remain polite despite feeling uncomfortable. There were lots of spots by the bar and yet these two guys chose to sit next to you. And they didn't bother asking you if you were here alone, almost as if they knew you weren't and didn't care.

"What are you doing here all by yourself, sweet thing? You're a real catch," the other guy said to you. "If you were mine, I'd never leave you by yourself."

You were too busy looking for your phone - to text Minseok and have him help you get out of this situation - to notice the two guys tamper with your drink, all while sweet-talking you.

"I'm sorry," you said. "I'm here waiting for my boyfriend."

The guy on your left just smiled, completely ignoring what you just said. "Finish your drink, baby girl, so I can buy you another one."

Suddenly suspicious, you shook your head.

"I'm good," you said and noticed the smile disappear from the guy's face.

You could almost see him plotting what to do next when suddenly, someone cleared their throat behind you. Not having to turn around to know that it was your boyfriend standing there, you exhaled in relief and prepared to step off the bar stool, when one of the guys grabbed your arm roughly, stopping you.

"Let her go right fucking now," Minseok commanded, his voice not shaking one bit. "Before I make you and your buddy share the drink that you tried to give to my girlfriend."

Junmyeon:

Junmyeon had to take you to the job with him because the last time he left you alone, someone ended up breaking into the house. He couldn't risk that again, so he figured you being with him would ensure your safety much better.

The job wasn't very dangerous anyway. Your boyfriend had to meet a few people at the restaurant for dinner that was just a disguise to exchange money and information about something Junmyeon had not shared with you. However, mid-dinner one of the men asked for a moment with your boyfriend - to give Junmyeon the money, no doubt - and you suddenly found yourself alone with the other man, who would not stop smirking at you.

"How about we order some wine while we wait for them to get back?" he suggested, already raising his hand to get the waiter's attention.

"Actually, I'm--"

"One bottle of your finest white, please," he said to the waiter, not allowing you to object.

Your boyfriend was paying for dinner and the man seemed to know that very well as he leaned back in his chair and smiled while watching you.

You tried to look at anything but him until the waiter came back with a bottle of white wine - which you didn't even like - and then you tried to politely refuse the drink again. The man in front of you told the waiter to pay no attention and just pour you a glass, which the waiter did, clearly, intimidated by the threatening tone in the man's voice. In all honesty, you were somewhat intimidated as well. The waiter gave you an apologetic look - weird - and then walked away.

"Cheers, sweetheart," the man said, raising his glass and expecting you to do the same.

You did, albeit reluctantly, and then, before you could bring the glass to your lips, you were distracted by the sound of your boyfriend's thundering voice.

"The deal is off," Junmyeon stated loudly.

"What?!" the man Junmyeon was talking to before ran after him as your boyfriend hurried towards you. "Why?!"

"Because you bribed the restaurant staff to pour something into my girlfriend's wine," Junmyeon said and you felt your eyes widen as you looked at your glass and then at the frustrated man in front of you.

"We--" the man tried to say but Junmyeon was having none of it.

"I was hoping all four of us would leave this place with a deal," your boyfriend said. "But turns out, Y/n and I will be the only ones leaving here alive, after all."

Yixing:

This girl would not leave you alone. She sat down next to you as soon as you came into the bar almost as if she was waiting for you to come, and now she would not shut up. There wasn't anything wrong with her, it's just that she didn't let you respond to anything she was saying and, on top of it, she momentarily turned deaf whenever you mentioned that you were waiting for your boyfriend.

Eventually, needing a quick break from her constant chattering, you excused yourself to the bathroom. When you returned, not even five minutes later, the girl wasn't there anymore. Not thinking much of it, you sat back down on your stool, deciding that she probably went to talk to someone else.

When you picked your drink up from the bar top - you'd left it there, not really considering it to be dangerous - you noticed a weird sort of powder floating on top of the cocktail. You stirred the drink with your straw and noticed the powder dissolve immediately until no trace of it was left noticeable.

"Shit," you cursed under your breath, quickly concluding that someone had just tried to spike your drink and if you'd come back later, you would have drunk it without knowing.

Suddenly, you felt a hand on your shoulder and nearly jumped out of your skin.

"Babe, it's me," Yixing's soothing voice rang as he walked around you until he was leaning against the bar. "I just got here, sorry I scared-you look really weird. Is everything okay?"

"Y-yeah, um..." you considered not telling him about this at all but he was already suspicious, so there was no point to hide this. "I think someone may have put something in my drink."

"They may have?" he repeated, almost every muscle in his body already clenched.

"T-they, uh, they most certainly did," you decided, sliding your drink down the bar top so Yixing could take a look but he didn't notice anything weird in it. "When I got back from the bathroom, there was something in it. It dissolved when I moved my straw."

"Alright," Yixing said, his voice stern. "Do you know who could have done this?"

"Uh, not really," you looked around the club, feeling a lot safer now that Yixing was here. "The only person I was talking to was this girl who wouldn't stop-why are you looking like that? It wasn't her, was it?"

"I don't know. It could have been anyone," he said, eyeing everyone suspiciously. "Let me take you home, okay? And then I'll come back here and find the girl, or whoever else tried to do this."

You climbed off the bar stool. "Maybe you should just leave it. Maybe-"

"I can't just leave it," Yixing responded, sounding almost offended. "Someone spiked your drink. They're not getting away with it. I'll take care of this. But let me take you home first so I know you're safe."

Baekhyun:

Once you realized that the man who had hit on you so relentlessly at a bar had actually managed to spike your drink with something that you hoped was a simple date rape drug and wasn't actual poison, you found yourself in a dilemma. You could try to get out of this on your own, or you could call Baekhyun, who'd get here and undoubtedly cause a huge scene. Either way, someone would end up dying tonight and you were honestly scared of what Baekhyun would do if it was you who died at the end of the night.

"Hey, baby, I thought you went out for drinks with the girls tonight?" your boyfriend's voice on the other end of the call sounded calming, albeit he seemed to be suspicious why you decided to call him in the middle of your night out.

"Yeah, I did, there's just..." you hesitated for a second. "Can I ask you something? It's a hypothetical situation, of course."

"Yeah, sure."

"What would one have to do if, hypothetically, someone had spiked their drink?"

Baekhyun was quiet on the other end for a whole minute and you started to fear he'd hung up on you.

"Did someone spike your drink, Y/n?" he asked finally.

"N-no," you decided to say. You'd handle this on your own and if something went wrong, that's when you'd call Baekhyun to come. "It's a hypothetical situation. I'm just wondering."

"Right. Well, if it was me, I'd shoot the fucker, of course," he replied. "But if it was someone who, hypothetically, did not have a gun, then you-they would need to get out of there as soon as they saw that their drink was spiked.",

You were biting your lip as you heard shuffling in the background of the call. Baekhyun was coming. You didn't even have to ask.

"Okay," you said. "And, say, what if, speaking hypothetically, that someone wanted to deal with this on their own, without getting anyone's help?"

"Then, speaking hypothetically," Baekhyun said, stressing the word. "That hypothetical person wouldn't have called their boyfriend to ask about hypothetical situations. I'm coming to take you home. Stay away from all kinds of drinks and everyone who's not me."

Jongdae:

Jongdae had taken you out for dinner right after he finished a job, so perhaps it was quite stupid and naive on his behalf to believe that no one would follow him to the restaurant. You did notice a suspicious looking black car with tinted windows pull up about a minute after Jongdae parked his car, but you didn't want to stereotype every car you saw into dangerous and non-dangerous, so you didn't mention it to your boyfriend.

You probably should have, though, since approximately twenty minutes after you and Jongdae sat down and ordered, the waiter brought you the wine you'd ordered and Jongdae chuckled nervously, saying that this wasn't the same waiter who had taken your order before.

"Maybe they're short-staffed," you suggested, shrugging your shoulders.

Jongdae sniffed the wine, however, and shook his head then. "No. They're not. Don't drink this."

The suspicions you had before resurfaced, and you found yourself on the verge of panicking. "What's wrong? Is this related to that black jeep I think I saw tailing us?"

"You saw a--Jesus, Y/n, you need to tell me things like that," your boyfriend said, standing up from his seat and attracting the attention of a few people who were sitting nearby. "I'm going to need you to stay here for a bit, okay? Don't drink anything and if you see someone suspicious, yell for me, okay?"

"What's going on, Dae?" you asked, clearly alarmed already.

"There's someone I haven't taken care of in this restaurant," he replied, glaring at everyone who turned around to give him confused looks. "And that someone dared to threaten our lives. No. Shit, that's not the worst part; they can try to kill me all they want. But no one will ever try to fucking poison my girl. Stay here, Y/n, please. I have some unfinished business."

Chanyeol:

Your friend was conversing eagerly with both guys that had approached you two at the club but you really weren't feeling it. At best, the two guys seemed creepy. At worst, they had a death wish to hit on you when your boyfriend knew at least fifteen different ways to kill a man.

The worst part of this unnecessary meeting was that your friend went to take a call, leaving you all alone with the two guys. You pretended to be distracted so you wouldn't have to talk to them and they seemed to fall for it. Convinced that you were too occupied to notice them, the two men poured something into your and your friend's drinks and then immediately started a new conversation with you.

Horrified at the realization that these men were much more dangerous than you had initially thought, you excused yourself to the bathroom. After quickly texting your boyfriend, you found your best friend and dragged her into the stall with you.

"Y/n, what--"

"They put something in our drinks. I texted Chanyeol," you explained quickly.

"W-who? Those guys?" your friend asked, her eyes widening after you nodded in confirmation. "You texted your boyfriend about them?!"

"Yes," you said, disliking the disappointed look she gave you after you mentioned contacting Chanyeol. "What else was I supposed to do?! They might be trying to kill us."

A few moments filled with hushed whispers and panicked questions passed between you before you heard shots fired outside of the bathroom.

"That's probably your boyfriend," your friend said. "You deal with this. I'm leaving."

You didn't try to stop her but even if you'd have tried, you would have failed because a few seconds later, Chanyeol threw the door of the bathroom open.

"Y/n?" he allowed your friend to walk past him and then his eyes landed on you. "Shit, are you okay?"

"Yeah, they didn't--m-my friend, she--"

"With all due respect, I don't care about anyone else right now," Chanyeol said, closing the distance between you two in few quick strides and immediately wrapping his arms around you in a tight embrace. "They didn't do anything to you, did they?"

"No, we didn't drink anything they gave us," you said, barely able to speak due to the tightness of his grip on you. Having your head pressed against his chest really allowed you to hear how fast his heart was beating, though. He was scared. "W-what did you do?"

"I killed them," Chanyeol replied simply. "They'll never bother you again. And still, I'm not letting you go anywhere alone. I'm staying with you at all times. No one will try to spike your drink, not while I'm with you."

Kyungsoo:
* there is no gif for Kyungsoo because it's too big*

The worst part about this night out was that Kyungsoo had been right. He'd warned you over and over that guys would swarm to you and your friends, flirting with you endlessly, and Kyungsoo would end up having to show up to the club sooner or later to rescue you out of there.

You really hated it when his warnings turned out to be true. That meant that you could never live your life without needing your boyfriend's help, and that pissed you off. You were always independent and having someone else constantly save you from dangerous situations was a huge blow to your ego.

This independence is exactly what made you straighten your posture when you headed to the bar of the club and a guy offered to buy you a drink. It was the third time that night and although you politely refused the first few times, this guy would not quit it. He kept insisting he'd treat you to a drink and, eventually, you had to agree just to get him off your back.

When you looked back to find your friends on the dancefloor, you saw the guy drop something into your drink from the big vintage ring he was wearing. It was really an impressive way to spike someone's drink, you had to give it to him. And yet, with a sigh, you realized that Kyungsoo might not have to rescue from annoying guys. He might have to rescue from something a bit more dangerous.

"Cheers," the man said, indicating that he'd finished spiking your drink and was now eager to see you drink it.

Suddenly changing the topic, you pointed at something on the dancefloor and once the guy turned to look, you switched the drinks, quickly picking up the one he'd gotten himself and bringing it to your lips.

"Anyway, it's probably nothing," you concluded then, smiling at him. "Cheers!"

The guy bravely grabbed the glass he'd wanted to give you and downed it by throwing his head back in one quick motion.

He was choking within moments. His eyes had rolled back. He tried grabbing his neck and giving you accusing looks but you just watched him frozen in shock. The bartender was the one who called the ambulance but as the guy fell backwards onto the floor with a loud thud, you knew the ambulance would get here too late.

This was what the guy wanted to happen to you.

Getting your phone out, you dialed Kyungsoo's phone number.

"Yeah, babe?" he picked up on the first ring. "Already need me to get you out of there?"

"Kind of," you said, biting your lip. "I might have killed someone."

"You-what did he do?" Kyungsoo asked, understanding right away.

"He tried to poison me," you explained. "But then I switched our drinks. He's lying on the floor, not breathing-"

"You really killed him? That's my girl," he said, sounding oddly proud. "Go outside now. Wait for me to get there. I'll kill him a second time."

Jongin:

Jongin working out of town was a good reason for you to catch up with your old friends and get some drinks at one of their houses. Unfortunately, as it tended to happen sometimes, the small gathering turned into quite a big party. And yet, you still felt like you knew mostly everyone here with just a few kind-looking strangers here and there.

And then, one of your friends found you and pulled you aside, her eyes wide and voice hushed. "Y/n... there's someone poisoning the drinks. All the drinks. I have two girls and three guys throwing up upstairs. I have no idea what to do. The drinks were fine at the pre-party, weren't they? I mean, we're feeling fine."

"Yeah," you nodded, taking a moment to process all this. "Is there anyone you don't know here?"

"Well, a couple of people, yeah," your friend said. "We might not find who's to blame for this, though. There's too many-"

"Listen, I'll call Jongin," you said then. "He'll tell us what to do."

"No, he'll tell us to stop the party," your friend sighed, knowing what happened whenever you told Jongin about stuff like this. "If he finds out you might be in danger here, he'll force us all to get out of here. No offense, but Jongin is really sort of-"

"Yeah, yeah, I know," you said. "But we have to do something. You don't want everyone to fall ill now, do you? Or worse, dead."

That seemed to convince her and she gave you the green light to call your boyfriend. As soon as you did though, her words seemed to come true. Jongin did spend the first five minutes of the phone call insisting you got out of there as quickly as possible, and then during the next five minutes, he attempted to convince you that he could get back home in fifteen minutes tops, kill everyone, and then get you out of there himself.

"Alright, I'm leaving," you groaned. "But first, I need to make sure my friends don't die."

"Y/n, your friends are adults. Tell them not to drink. They'll be fine," Jongin said. "It's you I'm worried about."

"I'm an adult, too," you reminded him.

"I know that. And I'm still worried about you," he said. "Please get out of there and then give me a call so I don't have to worry. And by worry, I mean drop everything I'm doing and go out there to kill-"

"Yeah, I know," you cut him off. "I'm leaving."

"Good," Jongin sounded a bit more relieved after you said this. "We'll figure this out once I'm home. I'll hunt everyone who was at this party down and make sure they weren't the ones trying to poison you - and your friends, of course - at this party."

Sehun:

The only reason why you were still sipping your coffee at the same bagel place you always went to was because this was the only spot which was Sehun-approved. Your boyfriend had a tendency to give you hour-long lectures before you wanted to go anywhere because, for some reason, he always thought you'd end up getting killed, and this café was the only place Sehun felt safe about.

Who could have thought that a simple passerby at your favorite - not to mention, innocent - bagel place, would be the one pouring something into your drink as he walked past your table? You didn't even notice it. There was no smell, no trace of anything. In fact, if a barista hadn't squealed when she saw you lift the cup to your lips, you would have most definitely drunk the spiked drink without realizing what had happened.

Instead, you gave the barista a confused look.

"Ma'am, I'm inclined to believe that someone might have just put something into your drink," she told you in a frantic whisper as she hurried towards you. "I'll make you a new one if you don't mind."

"W-what?" you asked, glancing down at the coffee in your cup.

"There was a man, he leaned over your table slightly a-and some stuff dripped from his palm into your drink," she explained. "Don't worry, the new drink is on us."

It didn't matter that they wanted to give you a new drink. What mattered was that someone had tried to tamper with your drink in the one place you - and Sehun! - thought you were safe. You had no idea what to tell your boyfriend.

"That's okay," you said kindly to hopefully relieve the stress that the barista was obviously feeling. "I was going to leave anyway. Thank you, though."

She seemed to want to offer you something else but your phone started to ring and she ended up excusing herself. You glanced down at the screen of your phone and sighed upon noticing Sehun's name as the caller's ID.

"Yeah?" you picked up the call then.

"I'm coming over to pick you up," he said, surprising you.

"Why?" you asked, reliving the past ten minutes of your life. There was no way you could have told Sehun about what had just happened without realizing it.

"Because you've been gone for too long," Sehun replied. "I'm worried. And now you sound anxious, so I know I have every right to be worried. I have my gun with me at all times, Y/n. Just tell me who I need to kill."
