What makes a Guardian a Guardian?
A Titan and a Hunter walked down a dirt road leading to a village, the Titan's left arm exposed as the rest of his body is in samurai style suit of armor and an iron battle axe resided on his back. The Hunter left nothing out in the open as she remained in Iron Lord armor. A group of 9 followed the two Guardians.
We take our first breath with no memory of who we were before.
Yet, we are inexorably drawn to the light.
The group approached the village to see it in ruins, fresh claw marks on the walls. As they walked through the town square, several Beowulves emerge from the ruins, ready to strike. The Hunter signaled the group to stay back as she drew her knife.
We fight.
With elegance, the Hunter moved towards a Beowulf, slicing it's throat. She immediately threw the knife at a lunging Beowulf, cracking it's skull and killing it with ease.
We die.
The Titan ran straight towards a Beowulf, running it over with his shoulder like a train. He grabbed another one as it lunged it's mouth towards him, breaking it's jaw and kicking it down to the ground.
and we live again.
A Ursa charged towards the group as the Titan and Hunter drew out handcannons, firing on the massive Grimm till it fell, filled with lead.
We know that we were chosen for a reason, by something greater than ourselves.
The entire group began to work together, searching the village for survivors only to find none.
For as deep and wide as humanity's rivers have run, it has now been reduced to a precious few. Needing something to believe in; A place to call home.
The group began to walk again through the dirt path, eventually making a campsite for the night. As everyone went to sleep, the Titan remained awake, lighting the axe and walking into the woods alone with it on his back. As he began to look around, a Deathstalker crawls towards him.
This is what we've been called to, the future that we fight for.
He draws his sidearm and fires at the Deathstalker, running around to avoid its stinger.
The future that we will protect.
Seeing that the sidearm did nothing to it, he replaced it with the handcannon, firing at its eyes as it hit one, pissing the Deathstalker off.
Shaped by the fires of each new battle, we are forged and sharpened into what we must become, for the fight ahead.
The Deathstalker attacked quickly at the Titan as he dodged it's stinger. The claw managed to hit the weapon away from the Titan as he backed up.
What we have built is only the beginning; A symbol of what we can achieve; Of who we are and our great purpose here.
The Titan grabbed the burning iron battle axe from his back and ran towards the Deathstalker, ducking under as it swung it's claw. He raised the axe and slammed it down, cutting off one of it's claws. The Deathstalker backed up, screeching in pain as the Titan slammed the axe down on it's skull, eviserating it to ashes.
The Titan looked around to see a woman in black. Her skin as white as a ghost; Her eyes blood red and her cheeks showed veins. She smirked as she walked into the darkness. The others ran to him, hearing sounds of gunfire.
Hunter: What happened?
Yang: You okay?
Titan: I'm fine. Deathstalker. I'm going to go rekindle the flames.
But.. the day may come, when we will be tested. When all we hold dear is threatened. And then, we will see what each of us is truly made of.
