*Cici's P.O.V*

"Miss Rodriguez, you have forty-eight hours to remove your belongings from both of your houses and get to Mrs. Fiore's house. Arrangements have already been made between your guardians and your aunt to transfer you over to her care. The official adoption will be complete in four months..."
Just like that, everything seemed to fall apart. I stopped paying attention and looked at all the people around me, their face's set in sadness. I couldn't cry.
"Let's go." Abuelo Luis said, leading me out of the court and into the car. As soon as I sat down I realized that was happening.
"Oh, God," I muttered, rocking back and forth. "Oh, God. Oh, God. Oh, God."

~~~
"What do you need to pack?" Gabe asked an hour later. We were standing in the center of my room, staring out the window.
"Um." I stuttered, crying. "Um, my rosary, and my, um-"
I covered my mouth and looked around in shock. "Um."
"Some clothes?" Gabe asked, leading me to the closet.
"Yeah, some clothes." I affirmed, grabbing whatever material my hands landed on.
"And your pictures?" He held out the photo albums I had, untacking the ones I had up on the wall.
"Pictures," I muttered. "My books."
Gabe handed me my Harry Potter books, the unpublished Hamiltone, and other books that I prioritized above anything.
"Here's Wowow." Gabe mumbled, handing me the old stuffed dog. My godmother gave it to me when I was born, and I can't sleep without it.
"Get me my crucifix off the wall, please." I asked, pointing to the cross and Jesus. "And the dream catcher is hanging in the window."
"You still have your dream catcher?" Gabe asked, taking it away from its place on the wall. "Remember when we got these?"
"Of course," I mumbled. "That guy came to our class and gave us all the dream catchers. Maestra let me choose first because I was her favorite, remember?"
"I always thought you were gonna choose the pink one." Gabe chuckled, examining the web
I had chosen the "normal" one, the traditional one. Neutral colored frame and web and feathers, but there were beads on the web that shone in the sun. It was bigger than my face, which I thought was good because when I was little I had terrible nightmares.
"Anything else that you really need?" Gabe asked. I shook my head. Jon had brought my stuff over while we were packing.
I grabbed my laptop and my iPad, sliding them into my bag with my school stuff. My In the Heights score was in there, waiting to be memorized. What if my aunt won't let me go to the rehearsals?
"Have you told the birds the bad news?" I asked Lin when I got out of the room.  The birds was my name for everyone on Twitter. He nodded sadly.
"It's gonna be okay." I whispered. "It is going to be okay, right?"
"Yeah, baby." Jon said, his voice breaking as he pulled me into a hug. "It has to be okay."
God, I hope with all my being that it's going to be okay.
