I relate to this song so much. My best friend, Shawn, has a new girlfriend and... I guess I'm jealous of her. His apartment has always been just beside mine ever since we were still in high school. The fire escapes are connected to each other. We don't talk to each other that much anymore. We're friends but not that close ever since he started going out with that bitch. I heard a knock at the window and stopped the music. I checked myself out in the mirror and... phew! I actually look decent. I was wearing black leggings, a black sweater, and black boots. I opened the window to find Shawn.
"Hey." He said smiling.
"Hey. What are you doing here? Not that it's a bad thing." I said letting him in.
"Just wanted to hang out. I have nothing to do. And it's been a long time since we last hung out. I miss my best friend already." He said sitting on the couch beside my bed.
"What about your new girlfriend? Aren't you hanging out with her?" I asked sitting on the bed across from him.
He looked down and fiddled with his fingers. I immediately knew that something was wrong. He always does that with his hands once he doesn't really want to talk about a certain topic.
"Shawn what's wrong?" I asked, sitting beside him.
He shook his head and sighed.
"I am so done with her. That slut tries to get with every guy she meets. Besides, she was only dating me for the fame and for the money." He said, burying his face in his hands.
I knew it! I moved closer and hugged him.
"It's okay, Shawn. You'll find someone better." I comforted him... and someday I wish it would be me.
Oh how I wish it would. I love this guy so much! We used to hangout everyday but then he started to go on tour a lot then the slut came into the picture. Even though a lot of things came between the actual possibility that we could be together, I still love him. He looked up at me with a pout.
"Shawn, don't look at me like that." I said nudging him.
"Like what y/n?" He asked but kept on pouting.
"Like that. All pouty and stuff." I said poking his cheeks.
"No I'm not." He whined.
"Yes you are."
"No I'm not."
He pushed me to the bed jokingly. I laid there laughing at him. Wow. Since when was he so sensitive? He made his way to me and hovered on top of me. He pinned me down on the bed and leaned down to my ear.
"You are such a turn on. After all these years, you still are." He whispered.
I felt his hot breath on my cheeks. I flipped us both so I would be straddling him as he laid there.
"How can I be?" I asked getting off him.
"Because... because I love you, okay? I always had and I missed you so damn much." He said.
I sat there in shock. He pulled me down to lay beside him. I faced him and he ran his thumb on my cheek. His thumb started brushing against my lips. He looked hesitant but then he moved closer to me. He kissed me all of the sudden. I kissed him back and smiled into the kiss. His lips were soft and warm, just like I had always imagined it to be. His hands made their way to my waist and mine were on the back of his neck.
"I should've done this earlier. I've always wanted to know the feeling and the taste of your lips on mine." He said smirking.
"Oh really?" I teased.
"Yeah. I've wanted to tell you how I really felt but I was too shy. I was too afraid that it would destroy our friendship at the same time I didn't want to break Cally's heart. When I broke up with her, I felt free." He said kissing the tip of my nose.
"I should've dissed her sooner then. No one messes with my best friend but me." I said kissing him.
"I love you."
"Love you too, Shawn."
