"Shh mommy is here, don't cry..." Gulf whispered softly to the fussing baby in his arms next to him on the bed. Big brown watery eyes that looked exactly like Mew's were staring at him as he whispered sweet nothings lulling her back to sleep.
Before her eyes closed fully she pushed out her little chubby hand and placed it on Gulf's face and gave him the sweetest smile making all those sleepless nights lately worth it all. He had to keep back tears from forming. Stupid hormones!
He blamed it on those even after giving birth! His heart had filled with so much more love for this little baby, even more than possible after loving Mew. He cuddled her closer and took in that unique baby scent and caressed her full head of black hair.
He yawned and closed his eyes too after some time of admiring and seeing she really went back to sleep. It was, after all, for him to the middle of the night and he would take any sleep he could get at this point!
Next time she woke up it was Mew's turn!
