As I slowly walked down the stairs, I trailed my hand on the railing thinking about what's yet to come

" I'm in the kitchen, babe! "He calls out.
I walk into the kitchen rubbing my eyes. It smells like eggs and sausage and toast. I smile when I see him setting a plate on the table.
"You didn't have to cook, Ni" I say quietly. He shakes his head, chuckling under his breath.
" I didn't have to.. But I did. "He says, hugging me and kissing my forehead. Making me smile.
"Now go ahead and eat, love. We're going to the movies. " He says as I sit down at one of the chairs.
"Really? "I ask and he nods.
"Mhm. Now, go on. Eat. I'll be in the shower. "
Then he went upstairs, no questions asked.
