Christmas Special
"Are you ready for your first day as the young master's body guard?" Gideon gulped in nervousness when he was asked with the question.
"I... I am!" He spoke with resolve making the manager of the person he would be guarding starting from now on.
The young master.
He would be accompanying the young master who was a renowned musical prodigy.
"I wonder what he looks like." Gideon spoke to himself when he was left all alone in the room.
Would it be a grumpy and tired looking dude who plays music for old people at the gathering of elite families?
He was already making so many assumptions in his head and Gideon was nervous.
He had been working as a bodyguard for quite some time now. Protecting many celebrities, idols, actors, actresses, and people of importance with society.
However, it was his first time being assigned to guard someone who exceeded the national boundaries. Being done so, Gideon was anxious about making mistakes while accompanying the supposedly young master.
Sighing, he got up from his seat and went to inspect his image on the mirror.
He was wearing a black suit and his hair was pushed back.
"I hate wearing sunglasses too." He muttered while holding on to the black sunglasses in his hand.
It was snowing for goodness's sake! Who would want to wear sunglasses when the environment was freezing and everything is covered in snow?
'What if I trip and fell on my face first because I could not see my way properly?' He pondered over the thought and soon shivered when thinking about it.
He had been trained for weeks before he was given to job to protect the young master so he knew his skills were enough.
But he can be careless sometimes too and trip on random objects while falling with his face first on the ground.
"The young master had arrived at the lobby, Gideon. You can go now." The guard spoke and immediately.
Thump!
Thump!
His heart started beating so fast making Gideon even more anxious.
"My heart went doki doki for a minute there!' He exclaimed before puffing out his chest and confidently walking inside the hotel lobby where the young master would be.
"What do you mean the presidential suite is not available?!"
That was the sentence he immediately heard when he arrived at the lobby. It was the manager he had been talking to earlier and Gideon's ears perked up when he heard another sound.
"I-I'm really sorry! There was a leakage on the pipes that connects to the presidential suite and needed to be fixed immediately. If you can just wait for an hour or two-"
"We cannot wait for an hour or two! Do you even know who's going to stay in the presidential suite? It would be Pier Belmiunde! We can't let him wait for an hour or two!" The manager started nagging at the front desk of the hotel and Gideon became conscious.
Pier Belmiunde.
'They can't even make him wait for an hour or two. What a person.' He was baffled with the importance everyone was giving this Pier Belmiunde.
Gideon roamed his eyes around the lobby once more, trying to find the young master.
'Silver hair, blue eyes...' He trailed off and instantly froze in his spot when he saw the exact description the manager gave him earlier.
The said young master was silently walking out of the hotel lobby while the manager was busy arguing with the lady on the front desk.
'Keep an eye on him, Gideon. He loves escaping from us and wandering around aimlessly. He gets in trouble so much because of it. That's the most important thing you need to do.'
He remembered what the manager said and his instincts kicked in.
"Young master! Please don't leave!" He screamed at the top of his lungs and Pier who was close to escaping flinched.
"What the..." He turned his head and his striking blue eyes widened when he saw that someone wearing a black suit and awkward looking sunglasses was running in his direction.
'Is he a bear?!' Pier spoke in terror when he saw the man running towards him at a fast pace with his large build.
"Fuck." He cursed once more before fully exiting the hotel's lobby and on to the entrance where the expensive exterior can be seen.
Pier looked from left to right. The outside area was too large for him to get out of the place and he had to think quickly.
"YOUNG MASTER!"
He gritted his teeth and immediately ran.
Gideon on the other hand huffed as he just reached the entrance of the place where many people are entering.
He looked from left to right as he tried to search for the young master.
'Where did he run off to?' Gideon asked and his gaze landed on the guard that was stationed outside just right by the entrance.
"Good day! Have you seen someone who had silver hair and blue eyes pass by through here?" He asked and the guard gave him an annoyed stare.
"There are literally hundreds of people passing by every minute here, kid. I can't remember if someone with silver hair and blue eyes passed by!" The guard spoke in agitation and Gideon glared his eyes at him before he started to walk past by the guard.
'Asshole.' Gideon cursed before he tried to look for the young master again.
At this rate, he would lose his job on the first day!
"Excuse me, were you looking for someone named Pier?" Gideon turned his head to the source of the voice and saw a child.
"Yes! Do you know him?" He asked with hope in his eyes and the child nodded eagerly.
"He went that way! You just need to turn around the gates and you would see him struggling to get out!" The child continued to speak earnestly.
Gideon was too occupied with searching for Pier that he did not even notice that the child had a sinister look on his face and was holding a bunch of cash in his hands.
"Thank you, kid!" He beamed before making his way towards the gates of the hotel's area where the young master would be.
He was starting to feel relief when he knew he would get to catch up with the young master again. However, a thought crossed his head once he was a few steps away from turning at the large gates.
"What did he mean by struggling to get out? You can easily pass through the gate- Ahck!" Gideon was caught off guard when a hand grabbed his collar and pinned him on the walls of the gate.
He grunted as the impact was strong enough to make him dizzy for a few seconds.
"Who are you?"
He froze in his spot when he heard the voice. Once Gideon's head cleared, he immediately saw who the person that pinned him was.
The young master was pressing him against the wall and despite the difference in their sizes, Gideon felt the strong force Pier was giving him.
"You better respond while I'm still being nice!" Pier threatened and Gideon panicked.
'Being nice? He's being nice?!' He thought as he felt he was slowly getting suffocated from Pier's grip on his neck.
"Y-Young master... Ahck!... I'm... your... bodyguard!" He managed to speak through the hard breathings and Pier's eyebrows rose in response.
"Another person to guard me. Tsk. They're too persistent!" He raged and tightened his hold on Gideon's collar making it harder for the bodyguard to breath.
"Y-Young master... please don't go out all by yourself... cough!" Gideon continued to speak despite the struggles and Pier gave him a ferocious glare.
"And why do you think would I follow you? You're just another one of those annoying guards that keeps me cornered!" He spat viciously.
Gideon saw how mad Pier looked but he could really not afford to let go of the young master.
"I'd rather have you lose your consciousness so I can get out." The young master huffed before applying more force in his hands and Gideon groaned.
His eyes were starting to get blurry and Pier watched with a devious smile.
It was Christmas for Pete's sake! He wanted to be alone just for a moment!
He continued to put pressure in Gideon's collars making it difficult for the bodyguard to breath. He was simply intending to make Gideon lose his consciousness so no annoying fly would keep on following him.
However, Pier heard another noise aside from the groaning of the bodyguard.
"Hic!"
'Hic?' Pier thought as he raised his gaze to meet Gideon's.
He paused for a second as he tried to digest the sight in front of him.
The bodyguard was crying while wiping his tears with his free hand.
"Young m-master... hic... p-please don't... go... hic..." He cried.
A fully grown man was crying and begging him not to go.
Surprised with the guard's state, Pier let go of his collar and stepped back.
'Did a bodyguard just cry because I tried to leave him?!' He asked himself.
"Why... why are you so persistent?" He also asked in frustration and Gideon slid down the walls of the gate while crying.
He sat on the snow while his tears continued to brim in his eyes.
"Young master... I... I don't want to lose my job..." He spoke between sobs and Pier felt a small pang of guilt in his chest.
Gritting his teeth once more, Pier observed Gideon for a few seconds.
"Tsk." He turned his back at the bodyguard and Gideon sniffed before raising his head to look at Pier.
"You just need to watch over me, right? Don't disturb me unless I'm in trouble." He spoke and Gideon's ears immediately perked up.
"Y-Yes, young master!" He responded which made Pier sigh for the nth time.
"Fine, come with me then." He groaned while he started to walk away.
Seeing the bodyguard cry like a child in front of him was making him guilty and he did not want to feel that way during Christmas.
Gideon also stood up and dusted off the snow from his clothes. He sniffed a few more times before he started to follow Pier from behind.
"What's your name?" The young master asked and Gideon responded without letting a second pass.
"Gideon! My name is Gideon Woodlock, young master!" He spoke and Pier could still hear the faint sobs in the bodyguard's voice.
'Seriously, he's too old to cry like that.' He thought and dismissed it right after.
"Then I'll be in your care." Pier spoke one last time which stunned Gideon.
The young master was letting him follow and Gideon was happy with that.
"I'll be in your care too, young master! I will do the best I can to protect you!" He beamed but Pier no longer responded to his words.
---
"Young master, where are we going?" Gideon asked when they reached a familiar part of the city.
It was the area where many street foods are being sold and some restaurants were located on the corners.
"Eat. I'm hungry." Pier curtly responded before getting off the taxi and paying the driver for him and Gideon's fee.
"Oh... okay..." Gideon followed him again like a lost puppy and every time Pier looked at him, he felt guilty again for making Gideon cry like a lost child.
When they reached a certain building, Gideon looked up the sign.
It was a mediocre restaurant that he was not familiar with.
"Are you going to eat here, young master?" He asked and Pier nodded his head.
But Gideon was worried.
Pier Belmiunde was at the top of society and him eating at a local restaurant might not be to his taste.
'What if he gets a stomach ache because he ate some food that's not from a five star and high-class restaurant?!' He panicked again and peeked at Pier.
However, it seemed like the young master was confident in walking inside which confused Gideon.
When they both entered, there were only very few customers and Gideon was amazed with the ambiance the place was exuding.
"Ah, Pier! Good to see you. Merry Christmas!" An old man from the counter spoke which had Gideon questioning so many things again.
"Merry Christmas, old man." Pier responded.
Gideon stared at Pier for a moment. The young master had a smile on his face and Gideon was in awe.
'Beautiful...' His thoughts trailed off.
"And who's this person behind you? Your boyfriend?" The old man asked which made Gideon's eyes widen and his face flush.
"W-What... t-that's wrong, o-old man!" He defended himself while blushing like a tomato and Pier snorted at the bodyguard's antics.
"He's my bodyguard. He insisted in going with me so here he is." Pier spoke before looking up at the displayed menu right on top of the counter.
"Haha! I see, I see."
"Gideon, what do you want to eat?"
"Eh?' He tilted his head when he heard the question.
"I'm asking what you what would you like to eat."
"Oh... ah, I'll have the grilled pork- WHAT? YOUNG MASTER, PLEASE DO NOT MIND ME AND JUST EAT! I AM NOT AN IMPORTANT PERSON OR ANYTHING!" He panicked when he realized he carelessly spoke what he wanted to eat as if he was going out with a buddy.
"He will have the grilled pork, old man. What else?" Pier asked him and Gideon felt his entire world stop.
'I'm definitely losing my job' he dreaded over the thought.
"Young master..."
"If you won't tell me I'll fire you."
"I'll also have the burger, a corn soup too, also add a few garlic breads on it!" He spoke in a hurried manner and Pier smiled.
"Anything else?"
"That's enough, young master-"
"I know that's still not enough for you. Any deserts?" Pier asked him stubbornly and Gideon was now starting to doubt whether he should have accompanied the young master here.
"I-Ice cream... strawberry one..."
"Add everything he said, old man. I'll have the usual." Pier spoke one more time before handing out a few hundred bills on the table.
"Keep the change. It's Christmas." He spoke before starting to make his way on the second floor of the building where it was usually deserted.
Gideon followed suit with his hands held together right in front of him and he looked shy.
"Young master, do you frequently come here?" He asked.
"I do. The food here is good."
"Then... why does the young master want to be alone?"
"..." Pier hesitated to answer and Gideon was about to take his question back seeing it felt unwarranted.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pried-"
"I don't really like being alone. I just want to spend some time away from my work and responsibilities. Besides, if I did like being alone you wouldn't be here." The young master responded.
"I see... then I'll keep you company always, young master!" He grinned from ear to ear while Pier sat on a two-seater table.
Minutes had passed and a comfortable silence drifted between him and the young master. Pier was looking out the window while tapping his fingers on the table.
"Young master... uh... Merry Christmas!" Gideon spoke out of nowhere and Pier turned his head at the guard.
"Yeah, Merry Christmas, Gideon." He responded which made Gideon instantly happy.
'The young master's so beautiful and very very very generous!' He fanboyed over the blue-eyed man in front of him.
Food soon arrived and Gideon's mouth watered when he saw everything laid out on their table.
From the grilled pork, a few cups of rice, the soup, burger, garlic bread, everything he said was right in front of him.
'But what about the young master...' He sneaked a glance at Pier and saw that he was munching on a cookie dipped in a glass of milk.
"Young master, is that all you're going to eat? Please share with me! I am not that hungry..." He trailed off feeling bad that he was the one who's eating so much while Pier only had cookies and a glass of warm milk.
"I'm good. Besides, I already ate earlier at the hotel." He answered which had Gideon doused in confusion.
"I thought you were hungry..." He definitely heard Pier speak earlier about his hunger!
"I am, and the cookies are enough to satisfy me."
"But..."
"I'll kick your butt if you keep on saying buts, Gideon."
"Oh... okay..." Gideon now had a happy look on his face and Pier observed him.
The bodyguard's crying face earlier no longer existed and was instead replaced with a smiling one that was excited for the food in front of him.
'He's really a child.' He thought and bit on to the cookie.
But a smile soon made its way on his face as he watched over the snow-covered surroundings.
'Maybe a bodyguard like him is not so bad.'
"Young mashter awe you weally not going to eat?" Gideon asked with his mouth full and Pier threw him a displeased look.
"Eat your damn food without speaking when your mouth is full, idiot."
"Awright, young mashter!"
