Although Ah Fu was a young girl, she was not a fool. She stunned at the door and her trembling voice sounded as though she was tremendously embarrassed, "Old Mistress sent someone over to pass a message. She asked you to go to the Upper Mansion after you finish
your dinner..."
"Okay!" That man's low voice sounded extremely irritated!
When Lisa carried the woman up from the bed, it was at dusk already and the view of the room was exquisite...
After cleaning up, Lisa ate a little and rushed to the Upper
Mansion. The spring breeze blew onto his face and there were only a few stars in the night sky.
The shadows close to the green light slab stone were mottled. Under the moonlight, the mansion quieted down, but who knew how many secrets were planned behind his back.
Jennie stood at the front door of the Hibiscus Garden and
waited for Lisa to return. She suddenly thought of an idea and she should have told Lisa everything the she knew about Nancy!
...
When Lisa came back from the Upper Mansion, he had a dark look on his face. His piercing cold gaze and his dark shadow gave off an odd sense of alienation.
The two of them had just gotten off the bed and did something extremely intimate. Initially, Jennie wanted to speak to him. However, the aura radiating from Lisa's entire body cause her to swallow her words.
She could tell that Lisa was a little tired. His gaze landed on Jennie and his adam's apple bobbed in his throat. He calmed his mind and said rather affectionately, "Why are you waiting here? Why don't you go to sleep?"
Jennie's heart was puzzled. She could tell that Lisa was
forcing and restraining himself despite his affectionate tone. She did not have a heart made of glass, but she felt a piercing pain at the bottom of her heart.
The woman hesitated for a moment, then she mustered up her courage and said, "Lisa, I have something to tell you. I think there's something wrong with Nancy..."
Lisa heard her talking about Nancy. He looked into Jennie's eyes and remained silent for a long time.
Jennie suddenly felt that his gaze was getting a little too cold and she did not know if she should continue talking. While she was hesitating, Lisa spoke, "Yanni is also poisoned and she's being treated at the emergency department now!"
As Lisa spoke, he paused and looked at Jennie's beautiful
face. He then continued, "It's hard to tell whether Yanni is alive or not as she ate some poisonous food previously. However, she tried to sneak out secretly in the middle of the night. When she had a poisonous attack, she fainted at the mountain behind Zong He Sanatorium. They only managed to find her this afternoon. Fortunately, she only ate a little and vomitted some!"
"Nancy went to the hospital to take care of her mother already. The Old Mistress told me to spend the following few days in the hospital, so I might not be able to come back and have dinner with you..."
Lisa's words caused Mu Chenyan to be dumbfounded!
Even Yanni was poisoned? ?
Previously, Jennie thought that this case was related to Nancy. However, if Yanni was also poisoned, this hypothesis and her speculation will not make sense.
Who would be able to poison their own mother?
Then, she should not have told Lisa about what she heard in the garden and the information that she got from tailing Nancy.
"Okay then, you should help Nancy take care of her mother..." Jennie said in a low voice. The feeling of disappointment and sadness slowly spread through her heart.
Jennie could vaguely felt Lisa's attitude towards her. It
was a little strange, but she did not know why. Lisa answered her, turned around and walked into the study
room.
...
Silence after sex caused the two of them to feel a little awkward. To avoid another face to face conversation, Jennie slept in early. Up until the middle of the night, Lisa was still not back yet. The woman got up half-way through her sleep as she was planning to get some water downstairs.
The lights in the study room were still on and there were sounds coming from the room. Jennie knew that Lisa was still awake in the study room, so she pushed open the door. She then rubbed her eyes and ask in a gentle soft voice, "Why aren't you sleeping yet?"
It had been a long time since Lisa smoked and the study room was covered in smoke at this moment. Jennie started coughing as she was choking on the smoke.
The man hurriedly stubbed out the cigarette in his hand and walked towards her in huge steps. He scolded her while he walked, "Why did you come here? Be good and go back to sleep!"
Jennie was surrounded by his embrace and she complained softly, "I can't sleep well if you're not sleeping. I came out for some water..."
Lisa did not say anything. He put her onto the bed and went downstairs alone to get some water.
By the time he returned to the bedroom, he saw Jennie snuggling her head inside the blanket. The look on the man's face softened and he passed the cup of water to her. Then, he comforted, "Finish it quickly and sleep!"
"Lisa, I'm investigating the Zong He case..."
Jennie took over the cup and took a sip. Then, she said softly without looking Lisa in the eyes.
Lisa was stunned, even though he knew that this case was
placed under the major crimes department and it was impossible that Jennie did not know about it.
The change in expression on the man's face was very subtle, only a hint of hesitation flashed through his crystal bright eyes. He lightly pursed his lips together and said calmly, "This is your job and you should do as you please. Even so, please strike a proper balance between work and rest!"
Jennie was very surprised. She thought that Lisa would
stop her from participating after hearing this news. It seemed like she was being overly sensitive.
Lisa went to take a shower in the bathroom. Jennie
started at his back and she felt very uneasy. Jennie found it even weirder when he behaved like that.
...
The following afternoon, Chaeyoung went to the hospital again to investigate on the situation along with the family members of the victims.
Chaeyoung arrived early, so she parked her car at the roadside and waited for Jennie.
When the woman traveled a long distance and rushed over, Chaeyoung waved at her. Right after Jennie parked her car and before she could speak to Chaeyoung properly, a familiar figure drew her attention.
Nancy parked her red BMW somewhere not too far away from. the parking area. She walked out of the hospital's escalator, soothed her straight long hair and looked around. She did not see Jennie standing next to Chaeyoung's car.
She wore the shades that she took out from her bag and sprayed some perfume.
Clicking sounds were made when she step her high heels on the marble floor. The clicking sounds were getting further away and that woman was walking very seductively.
Nancy most probably came to visit Yanni. From Jennie's perspective, Nancy did not seem to be grieving. Her eyes were calm and the strong perfume that she used masked the hospital's disinfectant scent.
She pulled open the car's door and put her phone on her ears. It seemed like she was briefing the person on the other side of the phone. Her expression turned from dignified to relaxed.
When Jennie saw Nancy's car leaving, she was still in a
daze. Chaeyoung did not know what happened, so she nudged Jennie's elbow and asked, "What are you looking at?"
Jennie came back to her senses and murmured, "Nothing..."
...
In order to rescue this group of patients, the hospital invested in a great deal of manpower and material resources. The family member's feelings were appeased. Moreover, this news was basically sealed off, so there was not any disturbance from the public. Thus, the situation in the hospital was rather peaceful.
If it was not for Chaeyoung, Jennie will definitely not be able to enter as a reporter.
Jennie went to the nurses' station first and found out that ZhaoYanni was staying at the intensive care unit. Even though she did not ingest too much food, she was being treated rather late.
Since a heavily poisoned individual had passed away, a depressing aura shrouded the hospital's bed-ward. Some heavily poisoned patients were still in the ICU, whereas the lightly poisoned patients were in normal bed-ward. Only those in the normal ward were allowed the company of their family members..
