A/N: I know this isn't a wedding but I was listening to "Beautiful in White X Canon in D" played by Riyandi Kusuma on YouTube while I wrote this chapter. I recommend you do the same and play it right from the start so you can have a better reading experience.

The stars shone brightly above them. They twinkled in the distant sky and they were giving comfort to the young master who was standing on the edge of the cliff.
"Your Highness" Pier called as he turned his head to the kneeling prince on the ground.
Asher looked up and tears continued to stream down his face.
His heart was breaking in every aspect and his chest hurt.
He knew it would already end with this, he knew that the affections he had for the young master in the past months did not matter.
He was after all, chasing on the moon that drifted far from him.
"Please rise, your highness. You should not kneel to anyone" Pier spoke as he went closer to the weeping prince.
"Your clothes are the symbol of elegance in the kingdom"
'Wrong'
"You're the light of our people"
'Wrong'
"You're the ruler that everyone needs for a better future"
'Wrong'
Wrong, they were all wrong. Asher could not agree in a single word that the young master had said. No, it was all pointless.
How could the sun rule when the one that governs the silent knight was now out of his reach.
How could he-
"Your Highness" Pier stood in front of him.
His white dress freely floated with the wind. His white hair was swaying along the gusts and his immaculate image of the most beautiful person was seen by the world.
"Think of me as your partner, not your possession" He spoke as magic manifested on Pier's hands and a flame bubble formed.
He directed it at Asher's direction and it enclosed the prince.
Pier then grabbed the golden crown on the ground and dusted it off.
"You're hurt because the moon no longer desired your warmth" He continued as he placed the crown on Asher's head.
"Think of me as your ally and not your servant, you will see a better perspective" He then patted Asher's cheeks as he stood up.
"But you don't have to worry, your highness. Even if the moon drifted far away, it will still do its role in becoming the sun's counterpart" He offered his hands to the crown prince and Asher stared at the beautiful hands that he loved.
"The world still needs your light, your highness and I will be by your side as you spread your warmth on everything that you ruled upon" Asher went to grab Pier's hands and he also stood up.
"The sun does not need to chase after the moon because he alone can exist without it" Pier started to dust off Asher's pants.
He was like a brooding caregiver over their young ones.
"It may be selfish of me to ask this, your highness" Pier spoke once he was done dusting off the dust in Asher's clothes.
He then proceeded to wipe the tears away from the Crown Prince's eyes.
"But I want to go on my own journey now, without the binds of the past and without the cuffs of the present"
"I want to experience something new aside from pain and grief"
"I want to explore the world without any restraints"
He spoke as the final tear on the prince's face was wiped away.
Asher was still somber as he stared at Pier.
He was hurting so much as he gazed over the young master.
Pier was his childhood friend, they grew up together and did many things as children.
They explored the world with their tiny hands but all stopped when they were overcame with the waves of time.
They were sailing on separate boats and the current started to drift them apart.
He was strong enough to resist and continue on a smooth journey but he forgot to look back.
To turn his head and see how the young master was doing.
He forgot that Pier did not have anyone else but him while he had the world supporting him.
He realized that he let the moon disappear while he focused on his task.
"Will you let me do that, your highness?" Pier asked as he gently smiled at Asher.
It was just like the gentle touch of the young child that he used to run along with in the garden of flowers.
The soft touch that assured him he would be fine, that he would do good, that he can do it.
He bitterly smile as he held Pier's hands and he bowed his head in shame.
Was there a point in keeping something that had already disappeared from his grasp?
Was there even a reason for him to bind Pier from their broken relationship and hurt him further? Asher could not find any.
His heart was heavy and his mind was blank. He could not think straight as he was being forcefully faced with the bitter reality.
That he had the world but forgot the moon.
The gentle moon that was his safe haven.
"Y-You can, young master" Asher's voice croaked as he spoke the words. He was letting go of the strings that bound them together in an unbreakable knot.
Even if he did not want to, he desired to let Pier experience the world that he took away from him.
Pier caressed his face and Asher closed his eyes at the sensation.
The beautiful sensation that ran along his skin. The divine feeling that he got whenever Pier's soft and gentle fingers touched his face.
He wanted to have it, he wanted to experience the touch as long as he could.
"B-But..." He spoke as he opened his eyes and he found Pier staring right back at him.
The blue eyes that haunted his dreams were presenting themselves right in front of him.
"Even... even if the moon does not need me anymore, can I still stay by his side?" He asked weakly with his breaking voice.
A crystal like tear fell from his eyes down to the young master's hands.
"I will not request for anything that would make the moon uncomfortable"
"I will treat the moon as my partner, my other half"
"Even if the moon found serenity on the light of another, can I still stand beside it?"
"I will not interfere with the moon's desires"
"I will do my best to treat the moon the way he should have been treated"
"I will proudly let the world see that the moon is still there, looking out for them"
"Will you also let me do that, young master?" Asher asked as he stared intently at the striking blue eyes.
Even if Pier found another, even if his Troy searched for another Simon, he would still remain standing by his side regardless of the consequences.
Even if it hurt him, he wanted to see Pier.
"I promise with my name and my title, as the Crown Prince of the Taron Kingdom, as the future sun of the territory, as your beseeched half, I will become the sun that the moon aspires to be" His eyebrows were furrowed and his hands were shaking.
He felt as if the world he used to see was weighing down on him.
Tap
"The sun does not need to promise because I know he will do it" Pier smiled at him and it was Asher's final reason of holding back his pained heart.
He opened the doors of his soul and allowed the broken pieces he kept come out.
All the pieces that he gathered as he treaded the path where he walked, they were all kept inside his heart.
In hopes of reforming the broken, even if it hurt, Asher kept them because he had an aspiration.
That everything would go back to the way it used to.
The distant yet far away dream of everything returning into its rightful places.
With him being the Sun.
The Kingdom as the Earth.
And the young master as the Moon.
Even if it meant that he would bleed, he opened the drawers of his well kept pieces.
he thought he had cried the last drop of tear but Asher felt like it was still the beginning.
The heavens heard his plea. The gods placed them back where they were supposed to.
However, they changed something.
It was that the moon did not rely on the sun for it to shine anymore.
The moon itself became an entity that can shine in the sky even without the sun's assistance.
It was hurting him, he wanted the moon to rely on him but he finally knew that it was just how things are.
He allowed another star to let the moon feel the beauty of its light.
He was focused on the world and other stars that he did not notice.
The moon was already revolving around another star and it was not him.
The bitter taste of reality was putrid in his mouth but Asher swallowed them.
He no longer desired to be a chain for the young master. He wanted to set Pier free without anything holding him back.
He wanted to see the moon shine the brightest.
Even if he spent years of hurting, even if he did not get to be the Simon of this life, he would still aspire to see his Troy living the best possible life.
"Just let me stand by you and I will be good, Pier" He whispered as the breeze passed through them.
The coldness of the night was making their body cold but Asher could not feel anything. His heart was numb from letting all of his kept pieces go.
"I'll give you the liberty, Asher" Pier responded and Asher turned his head to look at Pier again.
Why couldn't he get over this?
The beautiful face that encompassed the entirety of the sky and the beauty of the heavens.
They both faced the sea while standing on the edge of the cliff.
Pier wrapped his arms around Asher's shoulders as he smiled, his alluring face shining along the stars of the night.
Asher did the same. He smiled and his handsomeness was evident even in the dark surroundings.
Oasis captured the sight as she started to paint.
It was majestic.
The moon was smiling as it faced the horizon while the sun was staring at the moon with a grin on his face.
