"Oasis" Asher called as he stood under the shower.
The water cascaded down his broad and muscular back. His red hair was wet and covering his eyes.
"Yes?" The light sphere flickered as it was scrubbing Asher's hair.
The blood of the banshees and dirt of the golems were slowly getting washed out by the light spheres.
"Can you tell me more about my grandfather and Pier's?" He asked and Oasis seemed to be thinking about what the prince meant.
He had a hundred and six great grandfathers after all.
"Who? You both have like a hundred of them" She responded and Asher glared at the light sphere. The magical assistant bobbed up and down in the air as Oasis laughed on the other side.
"I'm guessing you're curious about my story earlier?" She asked and Asher gave her a curt "yes".
"Hmmm... Where do I start..." Oasis trailed off as she tried to remember details about the two.
"You might have already seen it on the frames earlier but Simon and Troy were the twentieth rulers of the Kingdom..." She started to tell the tale of the two.
"King Simon Lumiere was just like the other previous kings. He had exceptional talent with the sword and he was a ball of sunshine. It was his duty as the Crown Prince and the King to give hope to the people.
However, one unique trait that Simon had compared to the other kings was his loyalty and devotion to the other half of the kingdom's power. You guessed it right, Troy Belmiunde, the twentieth Headmaster was the person.
I do not personally know how humans love but I guess it is a universal thing that many beings experience so I am simply basing it on how fairies come to love each other.
If you wanted to have a short description of Troy, he was a gentle human. The most gentle one I have seen. He could not even stand the sight of an animal getting hurt!" Oasis laughed as she remembered Troy.
"However, that's what Simon had come to like with him. While he served as the hope and light of people within the kingdom, he was a ruthless person that persecuted people who tried to destroy the kingdom both inside and outside. No nobles were safe from his judgments and even those from his faction could not escape.
Nobles and commoners alike that were threatened and scared by his rulership labeled Simon as a tyrant king, but those who were assured that they did not do anything labeled him as a good and caring king. That's how people saw Simon before.
A just and unbiased ruler. A king that does not take any wrong sides. He was wise and made the kingdom flourish so much that the other empires became jealous of Taron's growth. All the while having his partner, Troy beside him.
Troy did not excel compared to the previous and following headmasters. He was a shy and relaxed one that had averages skills in magic. It even took them a few days before they got out of the passage and destroy every single banshee and golem!" She laughed again.
"However as I've said, despite Troy's mediocre skills in magic and other fields, being one of the most common and basic Headmaster to ever exist, Simon was completely devoted to him.
If Simon was the home of all the citizens of the kingdom, Troy was his safe haven.
He found comfort in Troy's presence. Every single time Troy was disturbed by anything, Simon would go out carrying his sword and destroy it in any way he can.
If Troy was bothered by blood, he would cover his eyes and order the servants to immediately remove it.
If a commoner person was hurt and Troy became upset because of it, Simon would not hesitate to send even the palace's best physicians to heal them even if they do not have any significant status.
Simon gave everything he could to Troy and the latter accepted them wholeheartedly" Oasis continued to speak behind the light spheres.
Simon and Troy, the twentieth rulers of the Taron Kingdom.
Their story was well known amongst history.
"However, Simon and Troy both needed to do their responsibilities as a king and a headmaster. It was to produce an heir. Troy got married first because he was pressured by the nineteenth headmaster and he cannot stand for himself.
Of course, Simon was left devastated but continued to love Troy from afar.
He also got married and they both had their own sets of children. Troy had his own family and Simon had his own. They became fathers that loved their children unconditionally.
But no, did Simon come to love his wife? I don't know. He did his duties but that's what all I saw. His wife also had someone she loved that time so I guess the feelings were mutual.
But it was another case for Troy, his wife loved him and he also cared for her.
It was such a bittersweet story" Oasis' voice cracked when she told the sad tale of Simon and Troy.
"Did they... end up together?" Asher asked, his heart was beating so fast and he was breathing hard.
"Troy's wife passed after their third child and it left him devastated for a short while but Simon remained by his side.
When Simon passed the throne to his son, the twenty first king and Troy did the same, they both had the liberty to reconcile and share the love that they had for each other.
Simon pursued Troy once more and the latter, just like how he accepted Simon's gift, he also welcomed Simon's love wholeheartedly.
Of course, the two spent their remaining years as wanderers. They had so much money that they were able to travel every place that they could.
The last news I've heard about them was that..." The fairy trailed off which made Asher even more curious.
"What?"
"Troy got infected with a disease on a kingdom they visited and it made him extremely sick. Shortly, Troy passed away in Simon's arms. But that's not where the exciting part ends!" She squealed like how she did when she first saw Pier.
"Simon spent his last and final year researching about the cure to the disease. He became a king, a hero, a doctor, and a savior just because he wanted to honor Troy.
All for the name of the Headmaster that he was not able to save, Simon did everything he can until he passed away in his room holding the cure for the disease. Such a lovely man!" Oasis spoke and it left Asher speechless.
An unconditional love that overcame even the most dangerous peril.
That's what King Simon had for Headmaster Troy.
He felt his chest tighten and his eyes water when he knew his great grandfather's story.
Even if he did not actually see Simon, he was pained knowing King Simon spent his final year researching for the cure of the disease that killed Troy.
"He saved an entire kingdom in honor of Headmaster Troy's death" He spoke weakly and Oasis agreed.
"That's correct. I'm sure they both are happy where they are now so don't worry about them" Oasis assured him but the lingering feeling in Asher's chest was still making him cry.
His thoughts then drifted towards Pier.
The young master who had an exceptional beauty and talent in magic.
Asher finished bathing and he immediately went to the changing room. There he saw the clothes he needed to wear.
There was a golden crown placed inside a glass box while royalty clothes were laid on the bed.
Asher stared at the clothes and the cape.
"Is that..."
"Mhm, that's the same cape you saw the previous rulers wore. I did change it to a little bit longer this time so it can go along the latest fashion trends of the current generation. It's beautiful, right?" Oasis asked which Asher nodded his head to.
It had very fine patterns embroidered on the edges and they were made of gold.
"Dry yourself up while Pier is still not finished" Oasis instructed him and Asher complied.
Grabbing a drying cloth from the bed, he started to remove the water from his external body until he was completely dry.
The light spheres were also tending to his hair too.
His heart was in his throat as he was trying to imagine how Pier would look in the clothes assigned to him.
He wanted to see him.
After hearing Simon and Troy's story, he somehow had another realization come in his mind.
'I'll be your partner for now, your highness' He remembered Pier's words when they fought at the passage hours ago.
Thump!
Thump!
Thump!
He desired to spend time with Pier, to spend time with the young master whom he considered as a partner.
When Asher was done wearing his clothes along with the cape, he headed towards the door of the room.
"Where do we need to get our paintings done, Oasis?" He asked the fairy and Oasis replied through the light spheres.
"I have set up the perfect place for you two!" She spoke excitedly and Asher was wondering what the fairy's plans were.
He held the door's handle and opened it.
What he expected to be the same room where they had just been earlier was now different.
Sunlight blinded his eyes as he slowly adjusted to the place.
Waves crashed on the distant shore while animals of different varieties sounded near him.
"Where..."
"Ooh, you look better now that you're cleaned up!" Oasis greeted him and the fairy started to inspect Asher's image.
"I think you're handsomer than I initially thought. Well, it's a given for the royal blood possessors" She shrugged her shoulders as she started to fly at a certain direction.
"Follow me, Asher. I will take your painting in this spot!" Oasis' small voice was heard in the forest like place.
The Crown Prince followed the fairy as he continued to look left and right.
Every plant and animal that he can see were real.
He was amazed with the power Oasis held.
Asher continued to follow the path the fairy took until the number of plants and trees continued to get lower and lower.
He then reached the end of the forest greenery and he now finally knew what the crashing noises were earlier.
Oasis was floating atop the edge of a cliff with the vast sea below them.
"This is a perfect spot for both you and Pier" She stated as she placed her hands on her hips while having a satisfied look on her face.
"I see... where is he?" He asked when he did not see any Pier on the surroundings.
"Oh shush, my light spheres are currently helping him wear the clothes. Be patient" Oasis reprimanded him and Asher sighed.
He sat on the edge of the cliff as he observed the sea below.
It felt refreshing and beautiful.
The sound of waves crashing on the soft sandy shore were pleasant to the ears and it was giving him more space in his mind to think about things.
He was more specially drawn to King Simon and Headmaster Troy's story.
King Simon loved Headmaster Troy and same goes with the other.
'Could I...' His mind wandered off to the successor of their sworn household.
"Honestly, you and Pier could have been a good match" Oasis spoke out of nowhere as she sat on Asher's shoulders while also staring at the sea.
"I am aware of the happenings in the kingdom, Asher. I know what transpired between you and Pier" Asher paused for a second when he heard the fairy's statements.
"You both had your flaws but don't you think that's a better picture for the both of you? You weren't fated to be like Simon and Troy. You have your own stories and that's what I have been looking forward to" She spoke now in a more gentle manner.
The annoying tone she had disappeared and was now instead replaced with a relaxed one.
"He placed burden on you and you did him wrong as well. I'm glad that the both of you are still talking things out like acquaintances and that's all it needs to perform your duties as a king and as a headmaster" Asher silently listened to the fairy's words.
"He loved you first but now you are on the same predicament as him before" He chuckled when he heard the statement.
True.
Asher was now in the same spot where Pier had been a few years ago.
In the place where he was constantly looking for the young master.
"But I can't really meddle with human emotions. They're too complex" Oasis sighed as her eyes sparkled when the sun shone on her.
"Kings are to rule the people while Headmasters are to maintain peace on the vanguard. You both are required to stand along each other to perform your duties"
"I know"
"Well, you're smart, Asher. You'll figure out how to deal with your own emotions sometime soon. There's no need to rush because you're still young I wish you luck" Oasis gave her best wishes to him which Asher received wholeheartedly.
"Thanks, Oasis"
"Simon and Troy were fated for each other, that was a given. However, you can change your fate. Just like how he did it too" Oasis spoke out of nowhere which Asher was confused with.
"Who-"
"He's here" Oasis cut him off and they both turned their head towards the path that Asher took minutes ago.
His heart started to beat with anticipation.
Asher wore his heart in his throat as he stared intently at the path.
"Oh, it would be better if it's sunset" Oasis snapped her hands and instantly, the bright surroundings that was in the middle of the day turned into dusk.
(Play the song I attached in the media)
Asher's eyes continued to stare at the path where he had just been.
"I don't see-"
However, he stopped when he saw a familiar figure start to walk from the forest trail towards his spot.
His eyes widened and he was left speechless when he saw the young master.
Those who possessed the royal blood had ruled over the people for hundreds of years now. They were the symbol of hope and faith within the citizens.
Those who had the blood blessed by the moon on the other hand served as the shield of the kingdom. They persisted and protected each and every corner of the territory.
Invaders from other countries and empires could not pass through their defenses.
They were the guardians of the country.
Every inch of land
Every plant and tree
Every person inside
All were protected by their shields and swords.
However, what Asher seeing right now was not a sword and shield that protected people from harm.
Instead, what he was seeing right now was someone who made him feel as if he was inside a sanctuary.
The young master started to walk from a distance with his white clothes that had golden chains and accessories attached to it.
The dusk gave him an alluring look which Asher could not take his eyes off of.
His breath hitched and his hands shook when he finally saw Pier.
"Oh my..." Oasis also trailed off when she saw the young master.
A beauty that transcended even those who wields the definition of the word in the previous generations.
The sublime scenery that captured the heart of every single creature.
Pier was the divine representation of the goddess' blessing itself.
In the time where the sun was about to set in the horizon, the moon was starting to take its place.
The sun gave light to everyone, but the moon gave comfort to those who slumbered in the night. It gave tranquil to those who anguished in the light of day.
Asher was the sun, he was the symbol of hope within the country and he had a bright future ahead of him. He gave aspirations, he became their pillar of strength.
He would soon rule the throne and everyone in the kingdom.
However, he knew he could not make it if the other was absent.
That's right, it was the moon.
Pier was the moon that took his place when everyone became tired.
He was a sanctuary for many, he represented peace and calmness.
He was meant to be the sun's other half.
In his head was a glowing crown that had beautiful gems embedded on it.
If the sun's crown was gold, the moon's was jade.
The silver crown on top of Pier's head was shining brilliantly along with the remaining rays of the sun as it set in the horizon.
His diamond and platinum ring added to the divine appearance he gave.
Asher could not remove his eyes from Pier.
Even if he tried to, his gaze was focused on the young master that had a benevolent aura around him. The orange skies along with his white dress contrasted each other perfectly that Asher had to remind himself he needed to breath.
"Your Highness" Pier called when he saw Asher standing at the cliff.
"Pier..."
The Crown Prince's lips quivered as the feeling in his chest started to well up. His eyes were pained yet he had a smile on his lips.
He immediately started to run towards Pier.
He wanted to hold him, hold his moon.
He had the desire to accompany his other half.
"You're... you're beautiful" Asher could not help but spoke of the young master's beauty. He held his hand out and Pier stared at it.
"My, thank you. Your Highness looks dazzling as always" Pier returned the compliment as he admired the cape Asher was wearing.
He received Asher's hands and the two started to walk towards the edge of the cliff.
Step
For centuries, the House of Masters and the Royal Family regulated the entire kingdom
Step
Generations of rulers passed and the integrity of the kingdom remained the same.
Step
All were protected, all were secured.
Step
The sun and the moon ruled over everyone and it gave them the best possible life.
Step
Just like now, the sun and the moon stood side by side as they watched the beautiful horizon before them.
The waves crashed in the shore and the birds were returning to their nests.
As the last ray of the sun was seen, the moon started to appear on the sky.
"Pier..." Asher called as he turned his head to look at the young master.
However, Pier did not respond and just kept on staring at the magnificent view.
The Crown Prince smiled as he imprinted the view of the young master's gentle gaze across the vast ocean and the wide horizon.
They were not Simon and Troy.
Fate constantly pulled them apart when one tried to get to the other.
Asher finally realized something new.
They were the sun and the moon.
The two never coexisted at the same time in regular conditions.
He brought the young master's hand in his lips and he kissed the back of it.
'You're my moon but you cannot be my safe haven'
It was the bitter reality.
'You're my Troy but I cannot be your Simon'
Asher turned his head back and they both silently viewed the scenery.
The hundred and eight king and headmaster both had satisfied looks on their faces.
'But can I change my fate?'
The question lingered on the back of the prince's mind.

P.S., Here are the clothes Pier wore
