***Sorry for the late update follow me guys***
Why does my heart pump so fast for him?
I stayed like that until I felt my heart getting back normal to its running pace. I still kept looking into space as I thought about my condition. Yeah, that's what I'm going to call it as I don't know exactly what's happening with me anymore. I don't know what he is trying to do to me. I made everything clear that it was inappropriate of him to behave like that with me just because I work for him.
Didn't he get my message that I don't want him to mess with me?
Even though he didn't touch me like yesterday but still, he again tried to come near me even after I warned him. Why is he acting like shared this with me? God, I can't even get hold of anything. Is this some new kind of way of his to torture me? Is he not happy with the way he is torturing me from the day I started to work for him? Can't he let go of his grudges? I can't even think of any other excuse for his behavior. For God's sake, he is engaged can't he stop invading my personal space. He doesn't go this near to William, James, Logan, or chef Oliver.
Then why is he hell-bent on giving me all kinds of bad mixed signals?
"God, help me" I pleaded to God as I moved my hands in my hair to grab it in frustration while looking up to let God know my location. I closed my eyes and took deep breaths to calm my nerves. When I felt a little better I decided to go back as it has been some time that I have run away from my work. I need to get back to it before someone comes to find me. Throughout the day I made sure to be away for him and he didn't summon me. As if God was answering my prayers. I said thanks to God each second and prayed that he helps me for the rest of my remaining months like this too. This was the only God part of my day.
The next day my whole day was full busy with Logan constantly trying to make things difficult for me. He made fun of me saying that I couldn't enter the kitchen and he could when he was an intern. He rubbed it on my face every chance he got. He even concluded that because of it he is the best match for Sophia and I'm just a loser. In answer, I just rolled my eyes at him. He was getting on my nerves with his childish play. God his childish play now I know why Sophia avoided him. He was constantly making efforts to defeat me. Like this, my days passed with very little interaction with the grey eye monster. I made sure to keep my distance from him. I only know how I managed to do it until now. Tomorrow was Sunday, the day I and Sophia with James and his girlfriend were going to have a double date. I have talked about it with Sophia and like me, she was excited too because we were going to have lots of fun. A smile graced my lips as I got excited thinking about tomorrow.
"What is making you smile like that?" James questioned me as I was preparing the list of all the ingredients that needed to be refilled in the pantry. It made me look up and I found five pairs of eyes looking at me. We all were seated in the meeting room as it was break time for all of us. I moved my eyes to everyone in the process avoiding one pair of eyes. He had his dark gaze fixed on me, boring holes in my face as he waited to hear my reply.
"Oh it's nothing," I said while laughing nervously as I saw they were still waiting for my reply and I haven't said a word yet.
"Come on tell us, do you have some joke to share with us," William said while looking at me with an eager smile to know what I was thinking.
"Yes, come on tell us I need to laugh a bit," chef Oliver said. Stress was visible on his face as the restaurant is being busy nowadays more than ever-increasing all our workload.
"There's nothing, it was just a random thought as I was thinking about tomorrow's holiday," I said sheepishly and it made chef Oliver's face dim a bit.
"Oh," he said in a little sad tone, making the rest of them nod in understanding but a grey-eyed monster was still looking at me with a look in his eyes that made me swallow hard even though there was nothing to fear about. I again flashed them my sheepish nervous smile thinking what was going on in his complex mind. In the process, I made the biggest mistake. I locked eyes with him and just like that he made me captive of his grey eyes. He was looking at me in a way that made me shift in my seat, not in a good way. I wanted to tear my gaze away from him but I found him incapable of doing it as he kept looking at me as if he was slowly peeling all the layers behind I was hiding.
"Now I know what made you smile like that" I heard James saying in his little excited voice. The pitch in his voice helped me in breaking my eye contact with the grey eye monster. I immediately looked away with a forced smile on my face. Maintaining my smile I looked at James with raised eyebrows.
"What," Logan asked in his bored tone notifying everyone that he was not instructed in talking as he continued playing with his cutlery.
"You are thinking about a double date we are going to have tomorrow right," he said it like he had hit bingo with a bright smile on his face making me forcefully smile at him as he has openly declared our tomorrow's plan. Everyone cheered in approval but suddenly I heard the cutlery falling sound making me look at it. Logan was looking down at fallen cutlery. He was stiff as if people had just removed him from the freezer. I knew he would react like this. I slightly felt bad for him though. I moved my head in pity and averted my eyes from him to collide again with grey eyes. Now I was looking like Logan. My whole body went stiff as soon as they met with him. He was looking at me with so much anger it looked like any moment I would turn into water and evaporate with the heat of his grey eyes.
"I have already planned everything with my girlfriend. I think both of our girlfriends are going to love this idea" James said in his excited voice. I could see the spark in his eyes as he talked about a double date but why can't he just shut his mouth for now. We can discuss the remaining things later. I just forced a smile at him as I felt a burning gaze on me.
"It sucks being single," William said in his playful voice while bumping his shoulder with me as if he knew what was going on here. It made me more nervous.
"True" chef Oliver joined him as he sipped his water.
"Don't worry guys you will meet someone soon as we did" James said to cheer them up.
"Only if we got some time for ourselves from our busy schedule" William mumbled more to him in his dreamy voice but I heard it as I was sitting beside him. I just kept quiet as I felt two slaying gazes focused on me. I was fidgeting with my fingers not knowing how to handle these gazes. I have unknowingly made so many enemies.
"Sage--Sage" chef Oliver called my name, making me look at him with aimless eyes.
"Huh," I said looking at him with little wide clueless eyes.
"Where are you lost? I called your name twice. Are you already lost in thoughts of your date?" he asked in a teasing voice.
"No--no I was just thinking about something. Why were you calling my name?" I asked with a faint smile on my face.
"Can you grab things from the pantry? I need them for a new dish on the new menu" he asked in his polite voice.
"Yeah sure," I said as he handed me the list of ingredients.
"Make sure to bring everything and yes if some things are not their order then we will need it in the future," he said in his professional voice making me nod in yes as I kept looking at the list of ingredients.
"Sage what do your girl--" James was about to ask something in his eager voice but he was cut off with a commanding voice.
"Enough of discussing personal matters, everyone, get back to your work. The break is over," the grey-eyed monster said in his strict voice while looking straight at me. Saying that he stood up and walked out of the room as I stayed rooted in my seat. Most of the time he was sitting quietly and now it was giving me a bad feeling deep down after seeing his sudden outburst. He did look pissed after hearing about my matters. I don't know what got in his pants for him to behave like this.
"Guys let's get back to work" chef Oliver said as he stood up to follow the grey eye monster. We all have to start getting back to our work. I grabbed the list and started walking towards the pantry with a breath of relief as I was no longer under the grey eye monster's gray gaze. I walked towards the pantry while looking at the list. Opening the door I entered while still looking at the list of ingredients.
"I think most of the things on the list are present here. I need to order some herbs that are on the list" I said to myself as I was checking the upper cabinets of the planetary. My hands were not reaching the top cabinets where the most expensive herbs were kept so I tried to climb up on the island on which vegetables were kept to reach the cabinet as I was trying to reach. Suddenly my hand slipped making me lose my balance.
"Oh my--" I said in my frightened voice as I got ready to fall while closing my eyes shut ready to meet the floor. But instead of falling on the floor big strong hands wrapped around my torso stopping me from falling. I stayed like that with my eyes closed for a good couple of seconds. I opened my one eye to look at my saver and found grey eyes staring back at me. My heart again started beating very fast. I tried to wiggle out of his arms but instead of letting me go out of his arms, he made me sit on the island with his dark eyes fixed on me. What is he doing here? He should be in the kitchen now. I thought all the while looking at him with my surprised eyes. I tried to snuggle out from the side but he put both hands on either side of me, making me look at his actions with wide eyes.
"Thank you" I mumbled for saving me while looking down still trying to be away from him as much as possible.
"Chef Oliver must be waiting for ingredients. I need to go" I said in my neat voice while trying to get down from the kitchen island but he moved more near making it impossible for me to climb down. He stood so near to me again, invading my personal space. He is again going to take this chance to touch me.
"Didn't I tell you not to touch me?" I said in my little mad voice while looking everywhere but him.
"I'm not touching you," he said in his heavy voice, making me look at him with wide eyes as he gestured to the little distance he was maintaining between us.
"You are still invading my personal space," I said in my little strong voice while gathering my courage and looking at him. Instead of moving away from me, he moved his face near me, making my breath get caught in my lungs as his face was only a few inches away from me.
"Am I?" he asked in his stern voice while looking straight into my eyes, making a big lump form at the base of my lungs as my heart palpitated even fast. His eyes moved slowly all over my face searching for an answer. I just kept looking at his handsome face which was messing with my brain so badly. His eyes dropped to my lips which I was constantly biting without knowing. He kept looking at them with a stern look in his eyes which did things to my poor heart. God my virgin self can't handle it. He forcefully tore his eyes from them and looked at me while taking a deep breath.
"Cancel all your plans for tomorrow because you're going to accompany me to all the restaurants of Villin for monthly reports," he said in his grim voice while moving away from me, making me gasp at his words.
"But I have--" I said in my protesting voice.
"I don't care. Be here on sharp six-thirty if you don't want to lose this job," he said in his stern voice saying that he walked out of the pantry without giving an ear to my words. He is purposely doing this to me after even knowing tomorrow I have plans. I curl my fist in anger.
How I want to break his arrogant jaw.
