Dan's pov

Jessica was about to pinch herself but I stopped her. I had been dying to see her all over the break. When the break ended, I decided to see her at school. I asked Joy to tell Jessica that I was waiting downstairs. She didn't run up like she always did. I thought that it was about me not meeting Jessica for so long. I was about to say something when she started. She told me that Jessica had left the school. I couldn't believe my ears. I knew it was because of me. I didn't say anything else and just walked away from there. I went to see her at her house and that was when I saw Peter's photo with Jessica's. Peter was a very good friend of mine when I used to study in the Netherlands. Jessica's parents came outside after some time. They were shocked to see me but they calmed down. I told them everything from the time we had met till I got angry at her. They listened carefully without speaking a single word. After I was done talking, they smiled and started. They told me about their love story. It sounded like a fairy tale. I wished Jessica's and my love story could be like theirs. They gave Peter's number and the university Jessica was at. As I reached there, she looked at me in shock. I was ready for her getting angry at me and shouting at me. I stood there ready for her to break up with me but instead she hugged me. She buried her head in my chest and wrapped her arms around me. She cried like it was the end of the world. Peter eventually left after patting Jessica's back. Her friends also left soon. It was only me and her in the darkness. I could hear her sobbing. I wanted to console her and tell her that it was okay but I was too shocked. I was certain that she would shout at me and blame me but she did none of that sort. We stood like that for the next five minutes. I ran my fingers through her hair from time to time to calm her down. Her hands stayed wrapped around me for a very long time. Finally she pulled away and looked at me. She caught hold of my hand and asked me if I was still angry with her. I was shocked at her words. She was supposed to be the one angry at me. She was supposed to be screaming at me for making her sad and shouting at her but here she was begging me for forgiveness.

Jessica's pov

Dan seemed to be deep in thought. I asked him to forgive me once again but he pulled me in for a kiss. His lips crashed against mine. Tears filled my eyes once again. I had missed him so much. All of it looked too good to be true. I had thought he would be angry at me. I thought that this was gonna go on forever. We pulled away after a minute or two. He looked me in the eyes and asked if I wanted to marry him. Did I hear that right? Did my dream guy just ask me to marry him? I had so many questions in my head. It was different from what I had imagined my proposal to be. Although it was not how I pictured it to be, it was perfect. He got on his knees and pulled out a ring. I could feel tears coming out but I didn't bother stopping them. I agreed.

To the wedding day

I sat in front of the mirror and looked at the veil covering my hair. I looked at my dress. It was every girl's dream to have a grand marriage and mine was coming true. We were having it on a beach. Dan had been preparing it from the day he had proposed to me. It had been two months since that day. My bridesmaids crowded behind me. I had decided to have five bridesmaids. Natalie, Joy, Suzy, Eva and Emma were my bridesmaids. They looked at me while some of them smoothed out my veil and dress. I was ready for this, I kept on telling myself. My hands were shaking with nervousness as I played with the hem of my veil. My mom walked up to me and took my hands in hers. She looked me in the eye and said that it was gonna be fine. Her words were soft yet very powerful. I heard the music playing for the bride and her bridesmaids to come out.
