Dan's pov

Jessica helped me back to the dorm at night. Lucas helped me to my bed and I fell asleep. The next morning I got up with an awful headache. I tried to remember what had happened last night. I sat on my bed for another 20 minutes before going to have a shower. While I was in the shower, I suddenly had a flashback. I remembered Jessica had kissed me last night. A smile spread across my face. I brushed my hands through my hair. I started thinking that she liked me. My face grew red as I put on my clothes. She was the only thing on my mind. I hurried down the dorm stairs with one of my dorm mates. Jessica was standing in front of the dorm. I wondered if she was waiting for me. She waved to me. I walked to her with my friend. My friend left us alone as he got to go for his football practice. She looked scared when she asked if I remembered what had happened last night. I denied. I wanted to give her a peace of mind, even if it was for some time. I asked her what it was and what had happened last night. She smiled and said that it was nothing that I needed to worry about. I joked asking if I kissed her last night while I was drunk. Her face turned red. I was barely able to control my laughter. She laughed it off. After having breakfast, we headed to the shoot. The shoot was supposed to end early that day. I asked Jessica if she wanted to do the project after the shoot. She said yes. The whole day went by fast. We were running behind on some morning scenes so we finished it that day. Jessica tried her best and it was awesome to see how she acted that well knowing it was her first movie. My assistant caught me staring at her. I brushed it off saying that it was no big deal and I was just trying to help her with her acting. He nudged me on the elbow before heading out of the caravan. He and I were very close. He was always there when I was feeling down. After the shoot, I headed to Jessica's caravan to see her lying on the bed. She was holding her ankle as she was in a lot of pain. I rushed to the side of her purple coloured bed. I asked her if she was fine. She nodded her head in a no. I got some ice and wrapped it in a towel. I pressed it lightly on her ankle. She informed me that she had twisted her ankle in one of the shoots. I ruffled her hair. She went red again. I put my palms on my face trying not to laugh. After I was sure that she was okay, we headed out and got in the car. I helped her to one of the libraries that was near the shoot. We were still studying when I saw a guy walking towards us. He had his eyes fixed on something. I followed his gaze to see him staring at Jessica. He approached her with a smile. She returned the smile. The guy stated that she was very cute. My blood boiled at his words. It was my worst nightmare. Why did I never think that guys won't hit on her? After all she was the prettiest girl I had ever seen. My stomach turned into knots seeing them talk like they were childhood friends. I just wanted to protect her. She was too naive and was friendly to everybody.

Jessica's pov

I talked to the guy who had just approached me. I got angry when I saw that Dan wasn't even paying attention to me. I wanted him to fight for me. Well he didn't. After talking for some more time, Dan finally touched the back of my hand. I was so happy that he actually cared. But that happiness didn't last long. After asking me the answer to one of the questions, he turned his gaze back to the book he was reading. I didn't want to use that guy as a bait and I didn't want him to get wrong ideas. I said that I was not interested in him. He looked sad but said that he understood. After he walked away. I turned my gaze to Dan. I asked him if he didn't care. He asked me what he needed to care about. I was so angry. I got up from my seat and started leaving. I guess I had forgotten that I had a sprained ankle. I put all the pressure on the sprained ankle while standing up and immediately slipped. While I was about to fall down, Dan rushed and caught my head with one of his hands. I did get hurt in my back but I was glad that I hadn't hurt my head. Dan looked worried. He picked me up in his muscly arms and put me on the chair. I was red with embarrassment. He looked too worried for me falling down. He rushed and got me some ice from the canteen counter that was inside the library. He wrapped it in his blue coloured handkerchief and slowly pressed it on my ankle. He asked me if I was hurt anywhere else. I pointed to my back. He rubbed my back with two fingers. His hands were warm and I felt a tingling sensation run through my body. He was too good to me to not care. He took more care that a friend would ever do.I asked myself if he liked me.
