Chapter 32 Feelings are real

Jessica's pov

I ran to my dorm and quickly changed my clothes since we had reached late at night from the trip so there was nobody awake. I went to bed and started thinking about what I had done a few minutes earlier. My heart was beating fast. I just thought about what I was gonna tell Dan the next day when he asked about it. My head spinned around at the thought about everything I was going to tell Natalie, Suzy and Joy about the trip and Dan and me. I was very tired with all this travelling so I went off to sleep. Next morning when I woke up, it was a Friday. I followed my same routine and headed outside the dorm. I saw Suzy sitting on the bench already with her jacket on. It was very unlikely of her to get up this early in the morning. I went to her and asked her how this miracle had happened. She got up and hugged me. I smiled and hugged her back. After calming down she told me that she slept real early last night so she woke up early. She asked me all about what I did in India and how everything was there. I told her that it was amazing and I met my uncle and aunt. She looked excited and said that she would definitely visit them if she ever visited India. After beating around the bush for some time, I took a deep breath and told Suzy about Dan and me. Her eyes were left wide open along with her mouth. We gave each other high fives and laughed excitedly. I had grown closer together with Suzy and Joy as mine and Natalie's friendship had worsened. I told her not to tell anyone. She agreed and promised me that she will not tell anyone. We both exchanged a smile when we saw everybody come down their dormitories. I asked Suzy if she would come with me to the canteen to have breakfast. She nodded her head in a yes and we walked to the canteen.We grabbed a protein bar and went to our lessons we had. I sat at my place when Dan came and sat next to me. He was trying to make eye contact but I tried not to. My hand was on my desk when his hand slowly came upon mine. I looked at him suddenly. He took his hand off mine and slid it around my waist. I felt a shiver run through my spine. We had eye contact, but it broke because of the lesson bell. He gave me a loving smile and I blushed. He tickled me and hit the back of his palm gently. He kept on tickling me and I giggled quietly. He pulled me towards him. Our shoulders touched and I pulled away. I saw Dan's friends coming in the class. They oohed at us when they saw us sitting together. They came to sit with us but Dan told them to sit somewhere else. They chuckled and sat in front of us. I whispered to Dan and asked him if he had told his friends about us. He nodded his head in a yes. I looked at him angrily but sympathetically and saw him giggling. I pouted my face in anger. He told me that I looked cute in anger. I blushed as he rubbed my cheeks with his thumb. We attended our first two lessons then we had our break. Dan asked me if I would have lunch with him. I agreed and we walked to the canteen. We had bliney and went to our lesson. We had a lot to catch up on as we had wasted a lot of time. All the lectures had ended but Dan and I were sitting in the middle of the lecture room studying. Dan and I were top students but he was a genius and I had to study a lot to become that topper. He sat there reading a comic while leaning his face on his palms. I told time that he could leave if he wanted to. I had said that to make him feel important but I wanted him to stay with me. As I said that he got up and wished me goodbye. I asked him where he was going. He said that he was going on a blind date. My eyes widened at his words. I at first thought he was joking and laughed but my mood changed when I saw him looking at me with a serious expression. I gulped. He told me that he wanted to break up. My heart shattered into pieces as the same words echoed inside my head. I asked him, holding back my tears as to why he suddenly wanted to break up with me. He answered that I always got angry at him for everything he did. Tears filled my eyes and I caught hold of his hand. I couldn't imagine being without him. He looked at me coldly as I said that I would be better and won't get angry anymore. I looked up to see him smiling at me. He said that it was a joke and that he would never break up with me.

Dan's pov

I smiled and said that it was only a joke. I was ready with some roses to give her when she got angry at me for pulling such a prank at her. I clenched my fists when I saw tears dripping down her eyes. I thought that she was gonna get very angry with me as I had made her cry but instead of hitting me, she hugged me. She sobbed as I felt bad for doing that to her. I patted her back as she sobbed saying that she won't get angry at me anymore. I kissed her forehead and her sobbing stopped immediately. She looked at me and I noticed her eyes were dark red from all the crying.
