"baby i'm home" Jack calls coming in
"over here" you say quietly in your lost voice
"damn baby are you okay?" he concerningly says putting his hand over your forehead

"no i've been feeling like this for a few weeks"

"a few days ago."
"okay well i think you need to get tested for you know what"
"nooooo i don't want tooo."
"but you need to so you can be safe"
"but i don't want them to stick things up my nose"
"i know baby but it's what needs to happen. now come on i'm making an appointment for you"

he walks away from the couch and calls your doctor
you're sure he thinks that you have the virus going around but you really don't think so
you haven't left the house in three weeks and when you did you made sure to wear a mask and stay far away from everyone
"well babe you're getting tested in an hour okay"
"jack!"
"hey hey you didn't let me finish. i'm going to get tested with you"
"that doesn't help me feel any better"

you guys are about to get your tests and you are are so nervous
Jack is as well but he would never admit that
in fact you had the flu a few years ago and the test is the same thing for both viruses
you hated the feeling and it made you cry and sneeze a bunch
you guys get to the testing area and Jack drives up to the people
"we're here to take two tests"

"okay i'll be right back"
"Jacky i don't want to do this"
"i know but once you get it done you'll be fine i promise"
"i'll still be sick"

it's been a few days since you guys took the test and the results are finally in
the test was awful, just like you expected, and the wait was even worse
but now you have the results and you're about to read them
"Jack what if we have it"
"then we get better together. now let's check"
you guys count to three and open the results together
"negative" you both say at the same time and smile
"see i knew we were negative"
"umm babe last night you were crying saying we're going to die"
"hey i did not say that anyways now we need to figure out what's wrong with you"
"oh no not another test"
"sorry baby but we need to make sure you're okay... and you don't give me anything"
