"Mommy?" Your 6 year old son says
"Yes baby boy"
"When we gonna go get daddy from airport."
"In a little bit okay"
"Okay I miss daddy"
"I miss him too"
"You think he has a toy for me"
"I don't know but if he doesn't don't be upset just be happy your lovely daddy's home"
"Okay but I want a toy"
"I know you do now come on we don't want to be late"
"YAY WE GO GET DADDY!" Your son squeals and runs to the door
"Woah woah woah baby relax you still need your shoes"
"Oopsies" he giggles and you help him put on his shoes
Finally you leave the house and drive towards the airport

You get to the airport and wait for his plane to arrive
"Mommy I cant wait for daddy to be home" your son says happily as he sits in your lap
"Me either and guess what he just landed he'll be down here in a minute"
"YAY! I hope he isn't tired so I can talk to him"
"I hope he isn't either"
Soon enough a bunch of people walk towards where you guys are and your son jumps up
"I think I see him" he says in awe
You look and sure enough he's there wearing your favorite lazy outfit
His messy hair looks perfect along with his oversized hoodie that is like an ocean on you and your absolute favorite sweatpants that he for some reason never wears at home
Well he doesn't wear them at home because you practically live in them
He yawns but smiles when he spots you and your son waiting for him
He walks past everyone and runs towards you and your son
He gets to you and pulls you and your son in for a long hug
"I missed you guys so much" he whispers
"We missed you too." You say
You pull away from the hug and he picks up your son
"How was my favorite little boy" he says with a big smile
"Sooooo Good. I was a little sad though I missed you a lot"
"Aw but guess what I'm not going to be leaving again for a while"
"Really"
"Yup."
"YAY MORE DADDY AND Y/S/N TIME"
"Yup more daddy and y/s/n time"
"Soooo did you get me any toy"
"Y/s/n! What did I tell you"
"Sorry Mommy I just reeeeeally want a toy"
"Well buddy I did get you one but you're going to have to wait till we're home"
"Okay daddy"
He puts your son down and takes both of your hands as you go to get his suitcase
"Daddy look I found yours" your son points to Daniels bag and goes to pick it up
"Woah let me get that instead" he laughs and gets it himself
"Well let's go home"

"YESSS" he jumps on the couch and Daniel takes out the toy he bought
"OMG I LOVE IT" your son squeals after he sees it
"And i love you... now babe I also got you a gift" he turns to you and you smile
"You didn't have to Dani"
"I know but I wanted to. You've been without me taking care of this little boy for a while alone you deserve it"
He hands you a small box and it's a ring with his initials d.j.s engraved inside
"What's this?" You ask
"It's a reminder that even if I'm just in the other room or I'm all the way across the world I'll always be with you, forever"
"Dani... Thats so sweet" you wipe a tear that's fallen and you hug Daniel
"I love you so much and being away from you for so long made me so sad" he whispers
"Aw I love you"
"I'm sorry I wasn't here with you"
"Hey you were doing what you love and that's all the matters"
"Yeah but I much rather have been doing you"
