You get a FaceTime call from your boyfriend Jack who's been away on tour for the past three months
You answer the call and automatically smile at the sight of his face
"hey" he says when you answer
"Hi" you respond smiling even more at his voice
"Okay so I called to tell you that last night I put your gift in the mail."'
"gift? What gift" you say confused
"Your birthday gift. You know because tomorrow's your birthday"
"oh wow it is I've been so busy lately I forgot about that but you didn't need to get me anything."
"I know I didn't need to but I wanted to" he says
"Again you really didn't have to because all i really wanted for my birthday was to see and be with you" you say starting to tear up
"you have no idea how sad that makes me."
"you have no idea how sad I am. When I'm not with you it's like I'm a whole different person. My friends notice it too. I just want to be with you. I miss you so much" you say starting to full on cry
"No don't cry. Do not cry. I can not watch you cry." He says
"I-I'm Sorry I just haven't seen you in so long. Do you know how much longer till you come back" You say wiping your tears
You notice him slightly smile
He doesn't say anything for a little bit and randomly hangs up
You text him very confused
Y- Why did you hang up on me
J- there was just really bad connection
Y- okay well like I asked how much longer till you come back
J- sooner than you think
Y- I hope
J- well good night I love you call me when you wake up
Y- I love you more
You put your phone down and go to sleep
*next morning*
You wake up and go on your phone seeing a bunch of texts from your friends saying happy birthday
You respond to all of them saying thank you and then you call Jack after reading his text from the morning telling you to call right when you wake up.
When you call he denies but then quickly FaceTimes you
You fix your hair so that you look somewhat decent enough to answer
You finally accept the call
"Good morning beautiful"
"Good morning" you say back smiling
"How'd you sleep"
"Not good at all. All I could think about was not being with you. I'm going crazy without you I—"
"Hey it's too early to talk about sad things like that. Plus its your birthday you can't be sad on your birthday"
"It's just another day in the year. It's not like I have anyone to celebrate with either. My friends are at school, I moved away from my family, and you aren't here so I don't have anyone."
"I said don't think about sad things. And I promise that later today you'll be much happier."
"How can you promise that"
"Just trust me I can. Now I have to go but I'll call you later today. Have a great birthday love you"
"Love you too" you say hanging up
*5 hours later*
You finally finish getting ready for the day when you hear a knock at the door
Right after the knock Jack calls
You answer the call
"Hey um someone just knocked I'll call you after" you say
"It's fine just answer the door on the phone" he says
"Um okay" you say confused
You go to the door and open it
When you open the door you are happily surprised to see Jack standing in front of you
"Omg Jacky Why are you here. I thought you guys were still on tour. You aren't supposed to be here. Oh no you aren't supposed to be here. Did something bad happen. Are you okay. Are the others okay. There must be a reason you're here" you say rambling
He just laughs at you shaking his head
"I'm here because its my beautiful girlfriends birthday" he says pulling you towards him hugging and kissing you
"I love you so much"
"I love you so much more"
