i just got news that for work i will be moving to New York
i am an editor for a very famous magazine that is actually based in New York however, currently i've been in LA working on my projects
i've been working so hard to move up in the company and this would be a great push there
however, moving to New York means completely throwing away what i have here in LA
here i have all my friends, in specific my amazing boyfriend Daniel
he doesn't even know that this was even an option
i have to be in New York in a week so i have to tell him as soon as possible
"hey babe are you busy?" i ask calling him
"no i'm free is everything okay"
"yeah i just need to talk about something with you"
"okay well i'm home."
i say goodbye and head home to give him the bad news

i get home and reluctantly walk in
"i'm home!"
"over here"
i walk over to where i heard him and he's watching tv
"hey Dani" i say sitting down
"hi you had to tell me something"
"yeah. so basically at work we've been getting a lot of new story's that we have to get out and it's super hard to get them done over here. they can't immediately help me change something and it takes days to get things approved. the only way to fix this is to work at the corporate company. do you get what i'm saying"
"not really. where's the corporate company"
"in new york"
"i'm confused. the corporate company is in New York, but this is LA"
"exactly"
"which means... you have to move. no way you can't"

"they need me in New York. plus there i have a better chance of making it to the highest position"

its been a week and today i am on my way to New York
i will be living in an apartment with other employees and i'm really excited
however i'm also really sad, i don't want to leave Daniel but i know it's for the best
we are going to stay together and do long distance
i think it will work out at least i hope so
i'm about to go on my flight to New York and Daniel is dropping me off at the airport
"i'm going to miss you so fucking much" he whispers hugging me
"i'll miss you too but we'll make this work i promise you"
"will you call me every night"
"of course i will. and if you miss me just look at all the pictures of us you have okay"
"okay" he hugs me tighter and pulls my head to his
"i love you baby" he whispers kissing me
i kiss back and i realize i have to go
"i have to go now remember i love you"
"i love you too goodbye baby"
i walk in the airport waving him goodbye
i get through all the security and i'm feeling very overwhelmed
i want to leave but it's so hard
as i get to the gate of my flight i hear my name being called
"WAIT MAYA"
i turn around and see Daniel running towards me with a bag in his hand
"woah Daniel what are you doing"
"you can't leave me i need you! i know i said i'm fine with it but i'm not. please stay"
"daniel i have to"
"but what about us"
"we've talked about this"
"but-"
"flight to New York boarding now" the overhead speaker says
"Daniel i have to go"
"no! please stay"
"daniel-"
"last call for boarding"
"ill call you when i land. now goodbye daniel i love you okay" i grab his hand and kiss it
"you can't go!"
"i have to" i let go of his hand and walk away
before i give my ticket i look back and see him crying
sighing i board the plane
i hope he won't hate me for leaving him like that
i mean we will see each other again
