"shut up Zach you're only 5 inches taller than me" I groan fixing my hair
he always does this to me it's so annoying

"PENNY WAIT UP!" he yells following me but I just keep walking away

my best friend of 10 years recently turned out to be fake when she exposed all of my secrets to the "popular" part of the school
she always told me that we're best friends and best friends mean forever. I guess she forgot what forever means.
Zach is also my best friend or so he says. I mean yeah he's better than the others but that doesn't mean a thing
it could all be a lie and I wouldn't know.
the worst part is I have a very big crush on him and I even told my "best friend" that
I'm sure he'll find out soon enough and hate me and never want to talk to me again.
and that is exactly why I'm running away from him
he eventually catches up to me and grabs my arm
"let go of me"
"no, I need to talk to you. I don't like that you're upset with me when I didn't do anything. please tell me what's wrong"
"ugh! fine" I roll my eyes and he smiles taking me over to a bench our school has
"now what's up?"

"Yeah that's me"
"no Zach my OTHER best friend"
"oh yeah, the bitchy one. you know I don't really like her"
"Zach!" I laugh hitting his arm
"what I don't. anyways continue"
"okay anyways recently she got mad at me and she kinda exposed all of my secrets to everyone"
"oh my god, I knew she was a bitch. but that doesn't explain why you're running away from me"
"well it's just- um well one of the secrets was that I um I like you and I'm just scared you're going to find out so I'm trying to avoid you when you do"
"You like me? as in me Zach Herron"
"Yeah. I get it if you don't want to talk to me anymore or be my friend"
"no no no this is great Pen. I actually like you too."
"really?"
"Yeah. I've liked you since we've met"

"well I want to do something" he moves in close to me and takes my head in his hands
before I can respond he leans in and leaves a soft kiss on top of my lips
