Chapter 56

"You need to wake up." Luca said in my ear
"No. I was at work late last night doing inventory." I groaned turning away from him
"I need you to come to the office with me today. I need your help with this meeting." He said making me open one eye
"Why?" I asked concerned
"Its a big conference call with Italy. I need you by my side." He said as I rolled my eyes and got out of bed
"Do you ever wear clothes to bed anymore?" He asked laughing
"No cause I have your horny ass to deal with every night." I laughed getting in the shower
"I like your scruff better then the full beard." I said washing my hair as he cleaned up his beard at the sink
"Dante loved the beard." He laughed knowing he only liked to grab and pull on it
"So what is today about?" I asked
"Im not sure. They called my dad and he told me something was off in Italy. If so we have to go there. I can go for a week or two first to do safety checks and then have you and Dante come over." He said as I got excited about going to Italy for a long stay
"I am perfectly fine with that." I said trying to control my excitement in my voice
"I know you are. Fashion week will be happening soon." He laughed
"Im not going into the club tonight. I am too tired and want some time with my boys." I said wrapping a towel around me
"Your wish is my command." He said wrapping his arms around me
"I need to get ready. Get Dante ready for today cause Momma will be spoiling him like always." I laughed getting my make up out as he laughed and went to do what I said

"Im not use to this ring still." I said looking at it while we took the elevator up
"Well get use to it. If we are going to Italy you will have to wear it everyday." He laughed grabbing my hand to hold it
"This isnt going to take long is it? I wanted to get my nails done today." I sighed making him laugh
"It should take up to lunch. If it goes over you can leave." He said kissing my temple before we stepped out
"Mr. and Mrs. DeRosa." His new assistant Ken said coming up to us with a coffee for me
"Good morning Ken." I smiled taking it from him
"I know you like him cause he is gay." Luca mumbled in Italian making me smirk as I nodded knowing it was true
"Your father is in the conference room." Ken said going back to his desk
"He shouldnt be here." Luca mumbled sounding confused before opening the door revealing my family
"Fuck no. I am not doing this." I said looking at them
"Carrie please." My mom begged
"Are you going to get me arrested again?" I asked her
"Are you going to arrest me again?" I asked JJ
"Carrie enough." Angelo said cutting me off as I rolled my eyes
"You need to fix your relationship with your family. You know blood is thicker then water." He said as Luca mumbled something to himself I could barely hear
"Im not staying." I said turning around and walking out
"Carrie stop." I heard JJ say as I walked down the hall towards Luca's office
"No Jennifer. This was a set up for you to all become apart of our lives again. Im not going to allow it to happen. You arrested me and nearly killed me. You had me pinned against a wall as I struggled to breath. You should have taken the fact I didnt press charges as a way of forgiveness and moved on." I said pushing his door open and seeing all of New York calming me
"Carrie Im sorry I did all that. We had enough to go off of to arrest Luca but you admitted more then I thought and the charges wouldnt stick against you." She said closing the door behind her
"Jen look that damage has been done with our relationship and the families relationship. Lets just move on and go back to how it was when you thought I was missing." I sighed turning to look at her
"Carrie I cant do that. I cant lose my sister. I cant lose another sister." She said getting emotional
"I cant even trust you anymore. You and your team are always threatening to arrest everyone in my life. We are not in illegal business. Just because we have money means we didnt work for it. Luca started the clubs and took over the hotels from his dad." I said still telling the lie
"Can you just tell the truth once?" She asked walking closer
"What truth?" I asked as she raised and eyebrow
"Just tell me. It will be our secret that will go with the rest. Like my miscarriage when I first met Will. You are still the only one that knows. I never told Will." She said as I turned around and she stood next to me as we looked out the window
"Fine. Luca is the leader of the Italian mafia." I sighed letting her know as she nodded
"I will always put him and the mafia first. Even if it means going to jail for it." I said not looking at her
"What is your role?" She asked
"Im second in command. I accepted my position a week or so ago." I whispered
"What are you involved in?" She asked as I looked at her
"I need to know just incase something was to happen to you and Dante. I want to protect you two." She said as I nodded
"Gun running. I over see it at the clubs and take inventory and clean the money in the club." I said as I heard the door slam making me jump
"Carrie DeRosa what did you just do?" I heard Luca ask full of anger
"Luca I only wanted to know so I can protect your family. It will only stay with me. I promise." JJ said fast as he walked closer
"So you can arrest us and take us away from Dante." He said as I stood besides him
"Luca she wont tell anyone. This is one of our sister secrets that we promise to never share. I know she wont use it against us ever." I said as he slowly became less tense
"I can promise you I will never be in your lives. But I cant say the same for mom. She wants to be there for you three." JJ said as Luca just stared at me
"We will talk about it. Go be with everyone else. I need to talk to Carrie alone." He said in a demanding voice as she left me alone with him
