When I woke up, I felt.. Weird. Like I was expecting something.
Today is the fight. That’s why.
Jack was already up and downstairs with the keys.
“I was worried you would just leave me,” I told him with a laugh.
“I was planning to. You woke up earlier then I thought.” He told me. Dead serious.
I scowled and put on my shoes. He reluctantly opened the door for me and we got into his car.
Zack wasn’t leaving for another hour or so because of Aubrey’s orders. So Jack and I left.
We drove through the woods and finally found the ship.
Jack didn’t speak as he pulled out our suitcases and threw them into the ship.
“I must have forgotten to lock it.” Jack said as he climbed in.
I looked inside the ship nervously.
It looked the same. Plus a few boxes from the move that we decided not to take with us to the house.
Jack looked like a pro when he flipped switches and was sending a message to all ships on earth.
We were in the air in a flash, flying through the sky at an incredible speed.
I turned to Jack.
“I know you’re upset about me going. But honestly I think its for the best,” I told him.
“As long as you stay behind me at all times with a gun,”
“So you can what? Fight them off so I have nothing to do?” I teased.
“Exactly.”
I rolled my eyes and looked outside the window at the stars.
I took a nap. When I woke up, I saw Renton.
“Wow. Its beautiful,” I murmured, looking out my window.
“Yes. Home sweet home.”
We were getting closer to landing when I decided to get my suitcase where I had my gun that Jack had given me.
Thump.
I glanced where I heard the thump from and slowly went to the bathroom door. My hand reached out and opened the door. Then someone leaped out and I was on the ground within seconds.
“Jack!” I screeched to warn him.
They were everywhere. Five at most maybe. I knew Jack couldn’t leave his seat or we’d all die from crashing into the ground.
I leaped up and snatched my gun up from my suitcase. Quickly I shot at the man closest to me without a second thought.
