I've been waiting for the right moment to confront Dabi about the masquerade the other night, and how I know it was him.
I just don't get why he wouldn't tell me?
Unless he didn't know it was me...
No, there's no way. He definitely knew. He loves to play games.
I haven't seen him all day.
It is Sunday... maybe he has errands to run?
Jeez, I sound like such a stalker.
Ughhh, I can't just sit here and wait for him. I need to go do something to distract myself. Maybe grocery shopping.
Okay, yeah. Let's do that.
I throw my shoes on and grab my keys, heading out the door. As I'm backing out of my driveway, Dabi's car comes zooming in.
Perfect timing.
"You!" I shout as I walk over to him.
"Me?"
"I know it was you at the masquerade."
"I... don't know what you're talking about."
I scoff, "Really?"
He chuckles, "How'd you figure it out?"
His fucking laugh, and his smile... shit.
"Last night. When I asked how you were so good at pool, and you said "it's a secret". You said the exact thing to me at the masquerade. You're gonna tell me that wasn't on purpose?"
"It was. I wanted to see if you'd catch on. Good girl."
He did not just say that.
Wow.
Now my vagina is tingling.
No, stop. I'm mad at him.
"You know, I don't appreciate being made a joke of."
"A joke?"
"Yeah. The fact that you knew it was me, and I was practically begging for you to tell me who you were."
"I'm sorry it made you feel that way. It wasn't my intention, truly. But I didn't want to tell you because we haven't spoken in a while, and I wasn't sure how you'd feel seeing me again. Let alone dance with me."
"How'd you even know it was me?"
He smirks, "You're pretty hard to forget, princess. That little mask wasn't going to stop me from recognizing you."
I feel my cheeks flush a bit, "Whatever. I have to go."
Well, that didn't exactly go as planned. But it wasn't terrible.
