Akira's POV
By the time I got to Dabi's, most of his friends were already there. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't been procrastinating going over. I don't think I'm ready to face Keigo yet.
"You good, babe?"
"What? Oh, yeah. I'm fine."
He sighs and grabs my hands, "What's goin' on, princess? Are you having second thoughts?"
"No... no, not at all. It's just..."
"It's about Keigo, isn't it?"
"How did you–"
"I'm not an idiot, Akira." He looks out the back door window to where Keigo is standing, "You should talk to him."
"But–"
"It's okay, princess. Go talk to him."
I give Dabi a small smile before heading out to speak with Keigo.
God... I'm nervous.
What if he hates me?
I don't want to lose him as my friend. I cherish our friendship so much.
"Hey."
"Oh, hey. I didn't realize you were here."
"Yeah... I just got here a little while ago."
This is awkward.
Things are never awkward with us. I hate that they are now.
"You and Dabi seem happy." He breaks the silence.
"What?"
He lightly chuckles, "I know, Akira."
My expression drops, "Keigo, I'm–"
"It's okay, Peach. Really. I'm happy for you guys."
"You're not... you're not mad at me? But I... we..."
"I could never be mad at you. I knew that what we had wasn't going to turn into a relationship. And to be honest, I'm kind of glad it didn't. You're a good friend, Akira. I'd hate to lose that over a relationship. Or anything, for that matter."
He really is the best.
"Thank you for being so understanding. I was so worried that when you found out that you'd want nothing to do with me anymore."
He playfully shoves me, "Don't be an idiot. It's about time you two jerks got together. Everyone's been waiting."
"Shut up," I shove him back.
"Like I said... I really am happy for you guys."
"Thanks, Keigo. It means a lot coming from you."
"Of course," He sips on his drink then stops, "So did you tell him?"
