Author's Note:

First, thank you for reading! (or about to read, but still thanks!)

Second, this is an alternative to my other stories Horrifying New Start, Rise Against, and It ends here...   But recently (2-13-12) I've been attempting to edit the chapters to make it so that it is it's own book, (meaning you won't have to read the other books first after I'm finished editing them.) Although, if you want to read them, I would be one happy girl! :D  At the moment, you might have to read the other ones first to understand this :P

Anyway, if you read all of that, I give you a cookie for it (.;'.)  <Chocolate chip cookie.

                                                            -Prologue-

Why is this happening to me? It’s what every person thinks when something horrible happens to them. I admit it, I’ve thought of those words throughout my entire life, but I’ve never meant them more than I did now. He chose me.

I knew the fate I had before me, and yet I continue to fight against him with everything I had in me. I’m a fighter, and I’d never go down without a fight. Unfortunately, he is also a stubborn fool.

My name is Samantha Peters. I’m eighteen and live in Illinois with my single mother Susan. I have a story to tell, and this is how it goes…

                           Chapter One : Samantha Peters

I got home from school late because of soccer practice—which was becoming a common thing for me lately. My legs ached painfully as I unlocked the front door and closed it behind me loudly. The house was quiet, and for once I was relieved that I was home alone. Normally I’d get home and feel that depressing sense of loneliness and would spend the evening listening to some music while doing my homework.

When I walked into the house I immediately headed into the kitchen and put some leftover meatloaf in the microwave, wrinkling my nose slightly at the sight of it. Let’s just say that my mom isn’t the greatest cook—though I unfortunately got her cooking ability as well.

My mom decided to take a double shift at her job, so here I am at five in the afternoon, eating leftovers all by myself. The beeping of the microwave startled me for a moment because it had been so quiet, and I quickly yanked my food out and began eating the burning hot meatloaf while I turned on the television. I was especially glad that I had showered in the locker rooms at school considering I was too exhausted to go upstairs and shower.

My eyes began to droop after I finished my meal. I rolled onto my side and watched my favorite show, feeling my eyelids getting heavier.

     Thump.

I sat up and scanned the room, but only saw my cat dart across the floor. One of the downsides to being home-alone, you get paranoid. I sighed and scooped up my cat that I hadn’t seen in days.
