TRISTEN
Or we could leave.
TORIE
What like, skip class? Yeah right. Mom and dad get upset when when we miss school for doctor appointments. There's no way I'm risking them finding out.
TRISTEN
Every graduating class is entitled to one Senior Ditch Day. It's tradition. Senioritis is no joke.
TORIE
So you're just going to ignore everything I said about making a good impression?
TRISTEN
You're always talking about finding your next big adventure. What's more thrilling then doing the one thing everyone expects you not to?
Torie's wrestling with the idea but...considering?
INT. HALLWAY – DAY
Flynn's head rests on his locker. He's wearing a flu mask. Miserable. Abram cautiously approaches him.
ABRAM
What exactly do you guys do in AP Physics?
Flynn sniffs.
FLYNN
I'm sick.
ABRAM
And you thought it would be a good idea to infect the entire school?
FLYNN
That's why I wore the mask.
ABRAM
You look like you can barely walk, man. You should have stayed home.
FLYNN
I told myself that if I could make it out of bed, I could make it to school. I might as well make it through the day.
Jeff walks over barely awake.
JEFF
Dude, I've been up all night finishing that English paper.
Eyes Flynn.
JEFF (CONT'D)
You look worse than I do?
ABRAM
That paper was due today?
JEFF
Seriously, bro. Are you trying to repeat Senior year? We've been working on it for weeks. She's not going to give you an extension.
Abram clears his throat.
ABRAM
I feel like I'm coming down with something.
He puts an arm around Flynn and steers him away.
ABRAM (CONT'D)
Come one, Flynn. I should get you home before you contaminate the rest of the student body. (to Jeff) I was never here.
