INT. NORTHPOINTE GYM – NIGHT

On the court, Tristen is in his zone, making shot after shot and pumping up the crowd.

Up at the very top of the bleachers, Abram leans against the wall, bored. Beside him, Flynn makes eye contact with Clarke who's on the sidelines with her squad. He smiles and waves. She smiles back while cheering.

Buzzer. The players head off the court.

ABRAM

How about you just call me when it's over?

COMMENTATOR

It is now time for the halftime show. Please welcome FTW.

Lighting effects flash as Torie leads her girls onto the court, all dressed in their own unique style. Abram's interest piques.

The girls pose in position and the music starts. They rock their performance. Flynn catches Abram staring.

FLYNN

You still want to leave early?

Abram elbows him.

Tristen returns from the locker room to watch. In the middle of the routine, the cheerleaders pass them each a basketball, amping up the performance. Everyone is on their feet. But then Savannah looses her footing and falls, her basketball rolling across the court. The crowd gasps. Some even laugh.

TRISTEN

Let's go, Savannah.

He picks up the ball and passes it back to her. She catches it. He nods, encouraging her. She jumps back into the routine determined to keep going. The crowd cheers her on. Abram looks around at the crowd. It's not what he expected at all. He claps along.

INTERCUT PERFORMANCE/BASKETBALL GAME

FTW's performance plays as the soundtrack to the basketball game.

Tristen and his team continue racking up points, but the guest team isn't far behind. The crowd is going wild. Even Abram is on his feet and high-fiving Flynn.

Finally, Tristen takes the final shot for the game as the clock winds down...and he scores! The Northpointe mammoths celebrate.
