EXT. CAFETERIA – DAY

Torie, Savannah, Mo, and Shae sit at their usual table.

SAVANNAH

You have these parties every month? What about your parents?

TORIE

They're on a business trip. Tristen and I are totally responsible. They know they can trust us. That reminds me.

She types something on her phone.

TORIE (CONT'D)

I have to remember to call a cleaning crew for tomorrow morning. Teenagers like to leave a mess.

Savannah snorts.

Torie shows Savannah a video of the former FTW performing as the Supremes. Brandy and Torie are practically having a sing-off.

TORIE

This was at our 60's party last month.

SHAE

And of course, Ms. Diva tried to steal the show.

MO

When does she not? Brandy's coming, right?

TORIE

I don't know. I haven't spoken to her.

MO

But she is invited?

TORIE

Who's to say she would even come? If she wants to move on, I'm not going to stand in her way. At least I won't have to deal with the drama.

SHAE

You two are being so petty right now. We've been friends since what, elementary, and now you don't even speak?

TORIE

She's the one who decided to throw that all away when she turned her back on us.

SHAE

Not sure that's how that went down.

MO

I'm just saying. Life's too short to let one little fight tear apart our friendship. I'm texting her.

Jaxson joins them.

JAXSON

Texting who?

MO

You might know her. None-ya?

JAXSON

Ha, ha.

TORIE

Are you ready for tonight?

JAXSON

I've been ready. I mean, I still can't tell you who we're going as, but at least we look dope doing it.

SHAE

You're couple costuming? You guys are ridiculously cute. If I wasn't loving being single right now, I would totally get my Casablanca on.

MO

If only I wasn't apparently a magnet for bird watchers.

SAVANNAH

Bird watchers?

MO

The guys who are always peeping at you, but never have the courage to actually approach. So disappointing.

SAVANNAH

Maybe they're intimidated. At first, I thought you were being passive aggressive, but it's really that you have no filter whatsoever.

SHAE

In other words, you're a barracuda.

MO

I just speak what's on my mind. Which is why I need a guy who can appreciate my honesty without getting in his feelings.

JAXSON

And that's why you're still single.

TORIE

What about you, Savannah? What's your type?

SHAE

Yeah, Savannah. What is your type?

She waits with mocks interest as Savannah squirms.

SAVANNAH

I don't really have a type. I normally go for guys who are funny, respectful, and who care about things other than themselves.

JAXSON

Sorry. He's taken.

MO

I don't remember her saying anything about corny rappers.

SHAE

Wow.

JAXSON

Don't make me hit you with a diss track.

Torie eyes Tristen and his friends. She smirks.

TORIE
