You placed your hand under your chin, leaned on the table and sighed, listening and staring at your beautiful boyfriend as he gave out orders.

"Eren and Oluo can proceed to the stables and care for the horses, Petra, Gunther and Eld will clean the library. (y/n), you'll help me with my paperwork. Understand?" Levi commanded.

"Yessir!" His squad answered and left in groups. You giggled and hugged Levi from behind. You kissed his ear to get his attention.

"Did you do that just to spend time with me alone?" You purred. Levi scoffed you off and sat down behind his desk, taking out a huge stack of papers.

"In your dreams. I meant what I said, literally." Levi said, tossing a pen at you and beginning to work.

You pouted, "well? You going to stand there and look like a fucking puppy or are you going to help me?" Levi said, giving you a glare. You laughed and nodded, taking a seat before him.

As you and Levi were working, he was explaining somethings to you. You went into LaLaLand again as you listened to his somewhat light French accent.

(A/N: Levi's French, deal with it.)

"What the fuck are you staring at?" Levi said. You just smiled and shook your head.

"Nothing, I just love your voice." You grinned. Levi rolled his eyes.

"Yes, yes. French people have the sexiest accent. I know."

"Excuse me, feeler. British accents are the sexiest!" You cried.

"And what do you think about your accent, (y/n)?"

"My (insert nationality here) accent is adorable, thank you very much." You mocked.

Levi chuckled, you smiled since you were the only one who could see him smile or laugh.

"I really do love your voice, not just the accent but everything in it. I find it soothing, y'know?" You smiled as you got back to work. But you suddenly felt your chin being lifted and a pair of strong lips upon yours.

Levi broke the kiss and began petting you, it was a weird habit you two often did but you found it comforting. You began purring like a cat.

"I'll let you make my voice as your solace, okay? So whenever you're lost, just listen to my voice, understand (y/n)?" Levi smiled a bit as he took hold of your hand.

You nodded vigorously and kissed him.

TIMESKIP

"(y/n)! LOOK OUT!" A soldier yelled. You looked towards that soldier and suddenly felt being lifted. You took your gun and you were hyperventilating, you forgot to cover your one ear and shot. The bang was loud, louder than a normal gun's sound. It ringed in your ears and everything started to sound muffled. You couldn't hear the screams of your comrades and Levi's cry of rage as he took care of the titan holding you. You dropped to the ground, wide eyed as your comrades engaged into battle. Levi knelt in front of you, but you hardly noticed him. Levi grabbed your shoulders as he called out your name.

You saw his lips move, "what...?" You whimpered.

"(y/n)! What's wrong?!" Levi cried. You began to tear up and clutched your ears.

"No...! No no no NO NO NO!!!!!"

TIMESKIP

"I'm afraid the broken gun's bang was the cause of it. (y/n)'s eardrums are quite sensitive." The doctor reported. He said his goodbyes and left. Erwin looked at the distressed Levi.

"Levi...I'm-"

"Save it. There's nothing we can do about it." Levi said coldly, walking away. Erwin sighed.

Levi entered the slightly lit room. All that could be heard was the fire's crackling in the fireplace.

But alas, you sat on your bed, lifeless like a doll as you stared at the window. Bandages over your ears after a failed operation. You no longer had the ability to hear.

Levi made a fist and walked up to your bed. You felt someone's presence and you looked up to see your lover.

"You can't hear me anymore." Levi said, you gave a hurt look and laid down, facing the wall.

You felt the bed sink and Levi took a pen and paper and began scribbling.

Soon, he was done and he passed it to you. You took it and read it.

I still love you.

You cried silently in his arms.

Bah. How long has it been?
School's controlling me, man.
