Bandit's POV

We were back at Jericho. The animals we had rescued were all very grateful toward me and my brother. I was proud to have a respected status among them all, but we all looked up to Markus. He was the true hero. I saw the last wolf we had met coming over to me. I had to admit, she was pretty, but she wasn't my type. In fact, I could've swore I had caught Tucker trying to talk to her once he met her. It seemed like everybody was finding a match these days. I shrugged. I guess it would make sense. With so many people and animals in one place, it was bound to happen. Plus, not many people would pass up on a chance to meet someone if they felt like they were ready to. I was in no place to judge after all.

She came toward me and I gave her a smile. She smiled back and sat down in front of me. As she came into the light a got another look at her.

Before I could greet her, she beat me to it.

"Heya Bandit!"

"Hey Amai." I replied. I thought her name was unique. She had told me that it was actually Japanese. When translated it apparently meant 'sweet', so I guess her name was actually Sweet, but she liked Amai.

"I was wondering where Tucker was. Have you seen him?" She asked. I chuckled to myself. Of course she was looking for him.

"Last I saw he was heading to the main desk to laze around in the sun with Streak and Fang." Fang was a snake we had rescued. His owner was an android named Jax. Jax was apparently an escapee from the police station. I had never met him, but whenever I saw him and (Y/n) pass each other they would give other a simple nod, but nothing more. She smiled.

"Thanks Bandit!" She said and hurried off. I chuckled and laid down, relaxing. I listened to the sounds of Jericho as I rested. Suddenly, I felt a warm body lay down next to mine. My head jolted up in surprise. She looked at me, raising her head as well.

"Hello Bandit. Did I startle you?" Galazy asked me.

"I-I was surprised. I thought I would've heard you coming." I said.

"Sorry. I tend to walk silently according to the others. I don't know why. They say it's because I've been trained to be quiet at night." She said. I was confused.

"You have? Why?" I asked. She blushed.

"Oh. I didn't mean to mention that." She said, embarrassed by her slip up. I licked her cheek reassuringly.

"It's alright. I was just curious." I said. She relaxed and nodded.

"I know. I shouldn't get so worked up over something so small." She said.

"So, why were you trained that way?" I asked.

"We had a little girl back at where I used to live with Tucker and Speckle. We found a nice family after the zoo for a short while. But then they moved to Canada because the mother was always so paranoid about deviants after everything she had heard. Anyway, the girl always had nightmares and would scream if she heard something in the middle of the night, so I had to be quite if I was ever up at night. I'm the biggest night owl out of the three of us. I guess I've learned to walk on clouds, heh." She said, making a small joke. I chuckled.

"That was pretty good." I complimented. She smiled at me.

"Bandit, you never told me you and Flame's story. What was it like for you both before now?" She asked. I thought about it. I sighed.

"We were never in a zoo, if I'm being honest. You see, there was a reason I wanted to help the pets escape as well. Yes I want them all to be free, but I didn't want any of them to do what I did." I said.

"What happened?" She asked. I sighed.

"One night, for some unknown reason, I powered on. I saw all of the android animals in the cages, so lifeless. It made me terrified. The next morning when the owner came back and saw me powered on he tried to power me off. I lashed out and I killed him. I escaped, but as I was running I heard another voice. I stopped and I saw Flame. I let him out and he thanked me for it. From that moment on we were runners on the streets. When we were caught by the shelter I knew it was over. Then, Jaden helped us. I never wanted anyone to feel or do what I did, so I did that to try to help stop it. While they have enslaved us, it's not right to kill the humans for it." I said. She nuzzled my chest.

"I understand why you did that. You shouldn't be upset with yourself. It was an accident." She said. I smiled at her.

"Thank you, Galaxy." I said. She smiled and we laid there together. I felt so happy. I loved it. I wondered what would happen if I told her. Should I? Do I dare? I wondered. I decided to brave it. "Galaxy?" She looked up at me.

"Yeah Bandit?" She asked. I went for it. I licked her nose.

"I like you...a lot." I confessed. I was blushing hard, but she licked my nose in return.

"I like you a lot too, Bandit." She said. I smiled, my heart pounding and flooding with joy. We cuddled there together. I never wanted the moment to end. I was so happy. I can't believe it. Even me, an android wolf of all creatures, can have a happy ending. I thought. But then I frowned. This isn't the end yet though. I'm still far from it. We all are.
