Chapter Fifty Five: Preliminaries

Standing behind Sakura, my arms folded behind my back, I stare at Kabuto as he lifted his hand to be exempted from the preliminary rounds of the third chunin exam. His eye locking with mine as he walked past us, I narrow them evilly, as I see him smirk wickedly.

He knows that I know his true identity.

Two other rain shinobi raising their hands, they leave their third team mate behind, as they left the building.

They weren't in the original show. They must have appeared because of my presence, at least their's someone I can fight now.

My eyes ranking over the teenage boy from Hidden in The Rain, I see his blue tousled hair held back my his headband. On his dark blue shirt he wore the symbol of his clan, that I unfortunately couldn't recognize. His ankles wrapped, along with his forearms I look to see only a handful of cuts and bruises on him. The long scarf he wore around his neck, hung low in front of him. My eyes looking to his face, I see his sharp features, the strong jaw line, his piercing hazel eyes, and lastly, the giant scar across his cheek bone. Looking back to old man Hokage, I see his eyes flicker to me as the first two picked for battle was Sasuke and the other Leaf shinobi working for Orochimaru.

"Everyone not competing in this match, please move to the second level, so we may begin." Spoke Hayate Gekko, the proctor. Nodding I make my way up the stairs just as everyone else. Following my team members, we all watch as the match unfolds in front of us. Leaning back, I let his match blur together, my eyes looking across to the blue haired ninja, I stare at him as he watched the match boringly.

"What are you thinking (Y/n)?" Kakashi asked as he jabbed me lightly in my side with his elbow. My eyes flickering to Kakashi, I look back at the ninja.

"Nothing. Make sure you seal that curse mark for Sasuke as well." The match ending, I make my way towards the stairs as Kakashi also follows, making his way towards Sasuke.

"Don't get yourself in something you can't get out of (Y/n)." Kakashi mumbled, as he left my side, walking towards Sasuke, he places his hand on his shoulder, transporting him to the area he would seal the curse mark. Walking up the other stairs, I stop next to the Rain ninja. His hazel eyes lifting to meet mine, he gives a small smirk.

"And who might you be?" His deep voice ringing through my ears, he turns his head looking at me. Smirking, I raise my head, tilting my chin up with confidence I stare at him.

"I'm (Y/n) (L/n) of the Leaf Village. And you are?" My eyes moving to Konkuro and the other spy for the sound Village fighting in the match, I keep my guard up while I chat with the stranger.

"Toshio Yori, of Hidden in the Rain. So why approach me? Want a fight?" Feeling his eyes glance at me, I shake my head no. "Then what?"

"We'll be fighting each other in the preliminary rounds Toshio. Just thought you should know." Shoving my back off the wall, I move away from Toshio. "A little introduction to your opponent." Walking away from Toshio I hear a chuckle behind me.

"Off so soon? Why not chat a little bit with me?"

Stopping, I look over my shoulder to him with a taunting smile, "why? Scared it might be the last talk you'll ever have?" With a tsk he rolls his eyes, crossing his arms across his chest.
