Demi's P.O.V

"M-mummy" I sobbed down the phone, "they a-all hate me mum, I-I-I've fucked up big t-time"

"Hey, hey hunny, you've got to breathe baby, take nice deep breaths Dems" her nice, calm voice nearly immediately soothed me

"Okay, now explain whats happened baby girl?" she asked, softly

"I-I can't say, yo-you'll hate me" I stuttered, starting to hyperventilate all over again

"Baby, you know I could never hate you, you have to stop stressing yourself out"

"I-I slapped Maddie and n-now I think I've broke M-Marissa's arm and Dallas absolutely d-despises me"

"Oh gosh, okay um I'm flying to L.A in 3 days anyway, we'll sort everything out with Dallas and Mads, I'll talk to Rissa for you, you're starting therapy again and we're going to talk to your doctors about your bipolar madication okay? This isn't the Demi I know, but we're gonna sort this out hunny"

I spent a moment processing this "Thankyou, m-mummy, I love you"

"I love you too baby girl"

I hung up and threw the phone across the room, mum sounded so concerned on the phone and I'll of stressed her out, fuck sake Demi ugh

I made my way down the twisting corridors, I couldn't control my legs I felt like I was floating

I felt like I wasn't in control of myself, like someone or something had taken over my brain as I opened the carton that was hidden deep in one of the cupboards on the 4th floor and pulled out a cigarette

I twirled it around in my fingers, marveling it

Is this what I really wanted to do?

Of course it is, what else have you got to lose?

Grabbing the carton and lighter, I slammed the cupboard door shut and made my way down stairs, still in the same mindset as before, as if I wasn't really me.

I opened the patio door and sat down by the pool letting my legs dangle in, I flicked the lighter on, lighting the cigarette

I put it to my lips and took a deep breath in, I felt more at peace as the burning sensation filled my lungs before I let the smoke back out

Oh how much I've missed this

I heard the dog start barking then the sound of keys hit the worktop in the kitchen but I ignored it, raising the cigarette to my lips for the second time

"DEMI? WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?"
