Chapter 49

Dianna's P.O.V

I watched Demi storm off up the stairs, it was pointless going after her, if she didn't want to talk, she wouldn't.

as simple as that

She was stubborn, too stubborn maybe.

I sighed deeply before walking out the bathroom and through to the kitchen where Mads was sitting on the counter and Marissa was trying her hardest but failing at mixing pancake batter with her one good arm

"Nice to see yous too" I smirked, knowing they hadn't seen me yet

"MUM!!" Maddie yelled jumping from the counter onto me, sending us both tumbling to the floor

We both burst into fits of laughter at each other, lying on the kitchen floor, I hugged her back not wanting to let go, she looked so beautiful and healthy now, I always missed her when she was with Demi

She jumped off me and put her hand down, helping me up "Thanks baby"

I faked coughed "What about my other daughter?" I asked, fake pouting

Marissa turned around grinning before coming over and giving me a side way hug with her one arm, while I put both mine around her, she rested her head on my shoulder, something seemed wrong though.

"You okay honey?" I asked her, still in the hug.

She sighed but nodded clearly not okay "We'll talk later" I whispered to her before giving her a push towards the cooker "Now hurry up with breakfast" I smirked

After breakfast Maddie went out to visit Ashton and I dragged Marissa out to the back yard to talk

"What's bothering you honey?" I asked her, her hand in mine as we sat next to the pool, our feet dipped in

"It's nothing Dianna, I'm fine." she said, shooting me a sad smile

Yeah because I'd believe that for a second.

"Bull. Now talk to me"

She looked down at the pool , not making eye contact but started talking anyway

"It's just everything with Demi, like I try so hard to help her but it seems like it goes to waste and here I am looking after Maddie and don't get me wrong I love Maddie, she's basically my sister too but it's not my responsibility and I don't know what Demi told you but we're meant to be dating but I dot know anymore if I can still do this"

"Is that really how you feel" came a voice from the patio doors
