Thunder rumbled and lightning striked as the rain poured heavily. I immediately stood up from my bed and walked towards the window. I tried to wipe the glass windows with a duster to clear the condense water on the screen.

As much as I cleaned, I couldn't see the compound. It was getting to nine pm and my father was no where in sight. The fact that it was raining and I couldn't reach his line increased my anxiety.

I knew he was a matured man and could handle himself out there but finding out your own son have had carnal knowledge of your wife is a blow no man can take.

Even though I dreaded the confrontation that will happen when he comes back, I knew it was inevitable. I wanted to get it over with as soon as possible.

I heaved a sigh of relief when his car headlight reflected against my window. He was back home and I knew I was about to get my ass whooped literally.

I tiptoed downstairs to check on him when I couldn't hear his footsteps upstairs after some time. I saw him reclined in the couch with an alcoholic drink in hand which he quaffed continuously.

"Dad.. you are wet," I said hesitantly when I got to his side.

He didn't bother looking up and continued to drink.

"Dad you should go and change. You might get sick," I beseeched.

" That should be the least of your concerns now!" He boomed out, which startled me.

"If you truly care about me you won't be fucking your step mum," He shouted before he got out of his seat.

I took a step back when he began to move towards me. His breath too pungent for my comfort.

" She wasn't my mum," I retorted, in an attempt defend my self.

" For fuck sake she was my wife, does that not mean anything to you!" He stated angrily, a menacing look in his eyes.

" Dad it's not like I planned it. It just happened," I stated whilst I ran my hands through my hair.

" Do you mean your dick accidentally slipped into her pussy? Is that what your sap arse is trying to tell me?" He breathed out, his chest heaving in anger.

"Dad you know I won't intentionally do that to you. I didn't even like her in the first place," I replied as I desperately tried to make him understand my actions.

" Good, then how come you were suddenly screwing her?" He shouted, his eyes blood shot from anger and excessive drinking.

" I don't know dad, one minute I was threatening her, the next minute we were busily locking lips," I stated in exasperation.

"Can you hear yourself speak, Micheal. She wasn't yours to kiss in the first place," He chided his lips set in a straight line.

" You think I didn't know that dad? As a matter of fact, I did but anytime I was close to her, all I wanted to do was to pull her into my arms. I wanted to do things I have never done to a woman to her. She just drives me crazy with so much passion! No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't resist it," I solemnly replied.

The room was momentarily silent till I heard the shattering of glass behind me. My father had aimed the bottle at me and has missed, which caused a dent on the wall.

" Dad! You could have hurt me?" I screamed after I came out of my shock.

" I want to do much worse than that now," He retorted.

" Dad as much as I know am at fault here, you also have a role in this," I accused angrily whilst I advanced towards him.

" You left that poor girl all by herself and was constantly out chasing other women," I continued whilst my voice increased in octave.

"She tried to be faithful to you. She fought her attraction towards me constantly, till she finally gave in just to spite you," I added earnestly.

" How dare you defend that whore?" He stated before his palms connected with my cheeks.

" She isn't a slut and you know it. She was faithful to you till you pushed her against her limit," I retorted heatedly, unperturbed by the slap.

" There was so much yearning in her eyes whenever I looked into them. She was lonely and hurting. Just like how mum was by your constant neglect and disparage," I continued failing to suppress my anger.

" Don't bring that bitch's name into this, it has got nothing to do with her," He screamed.

" It has dad! You used to bring women into your marital home. Even though I was a kid but I still remember. Mum used to cry herself to sleep every single night," I gushed out, before I clutched my hands into a fist in an attempt to subdue my vex.

" Don't talk about something you know nothing about ?" He warned his hand shaking in anger.

" Dad I was eleven then, but I saw everything. I saw you pushed her down the stairs and she died on the spot.

" And I don't regret pushing her down the stairs, even though I didn't intend to," He confessed his eyes suddenly going cold.

" Dad how could you say that. My mum loved you!" I shouted starting to get hysteric.

" She didn't. She decieved me!" He stated before he turned his back towards me.

" How can you say she decieved you when you were the one at fault. I remember that day vividly.Mum had picked me up from school and we came to meet you with a woman!" I hissed.

" The lady ran away and mum confronted you. You guys got into a heated argument and you pushed her down to her death," I yelled, whilst I hit my hands against the wall. My heart began to ache at the painful memory.

"You don't know the full story yet," He replied coldly before he took a seat.

" Tell me what the full story is. Is it the fact that you ship me right off to the States the next day to my aunty and abandoned me there or the fact that you deprived me of a mother's love? Or the fact that you told the police she slipped and fell on her own?" I questioned bitterly whilst I gnashed my teeth, waiting for his reply.

He shook his head slightly before he started laughing bitterly.

" That woman you called your mother isn't what you think she was," He replied a deep frown on his face.

" She hurt me so bad and I couldn't bear the pain when I found out," He continued whilst he walked to the minibar and took red label.

He quaffed almost half of it straight from the bottle before he turned his attention back to me.

" Your mother cheated on me and brought me a bastard as a son," He said, sadness etched on his face.

" What are you talking about? I don't have any siblings." I retorted clearly confused.

" The bastard is you. You are not my biological son. " He stated and took the wine in a large gulp.

"How can that be?" I questioned, clearly conflicted and shocked. My mum can't do that.

"Because I have been sterile since birth and I only got to know a week before our heated argument," He responded crestfallen.

As if on cue, lightening and heavy thunder striked again which made the lights go off. We were engulfed in total darkness and everything matched the emptiness I felt within me. I have been living a lie.

" History has repeated itself in a twisted way," Dr. Yeboah whispered dejectedly.
