It has been two weeks now since I set my eyes on Michael. My husband told me he was going around the country visiting extended family members and childhood friends. I couldn't say I was more than relieved. Things were back to normal and I was enjoying the peaceful atmosphere. Judging from my last encounter with him, I doubt we could ever have a normal mother-son relationship. Who am I kidding, he can never see me as a mother figure taking into account my age. I didn't sign up for this but I guess it was something to be expected.

My thoughts were interrupted by my husband's banging on the bathroom door.

"Hurry up honey or else I am going to be late for class today," I heard my husband's voice from outside.

"I'm almost done I will be out in a second," I shouted back.

I wasn't going to the class with him. I always accompany him to his car whenever he was going out to see him off. It was some kind of tradition we have unconsciously established. I walked back to the closet to select a simple blue dress with a flowery pattern. I took his briefcase and headed towards the hall where he was busily reading today's newspaper. He looked my way when he heard my approaching footsteps.

"That was quick," He said with a smile.

"I'm the flash remember?" I stated it like it was obvious whilst tilting my head to the side, giving him a warm smile.
He chuckled.

'''Miss Flash' how can I possibly forget," He teased whilst wrapping his left hand around my waist.

"Let's get going sweety," He beseeched.
I gave him a nod whilst we made our way to his car.

''The whole Kumasi! the whole Kumasi!'' I heard someone chanting as the gate to the house opened to reveal my best friend Nelly.

"Ugg," I groaned internally as she made her way toward me still chanting those words.
She instantly got quiet when she saw my husband. I started laughing heartily at the look on Nelly's face. It was priceless.

Don't get me wrong, I love Nelly with my whole being. She was like a sister to me. I have known her since Senior High school. We were in the same class back then and we even pursued the same course at the university. Even though our personality was different we still clicked.

Whilst I was a bit on the shy side and hardly knew how to make friends, she, on the other hand, has a bubbly, outgoing personality and could easily fit in anywhere. Not to talk about the fact that she was funny as hell. Even though I was now married to Dr. Yeboah, she couldn't still relate to him as my husband, but she still, see him as her once lecturer. She was always on her best behavior around him. Dr.Yeboah seeing her in this light was something I could tell she didn't vouch for.

"Good morning Dr.Yeboah," I stopped laughing as I watched her feeble attempt to make an amendment.

My husband responded to her greetings making small conversations with her. I stood beside my husband trying my best not to laugh. She looked like a schoolgirl who has been caught in a bad act by her principal. My husband took his briefcase from me and gave me a peck. He waves us goodbye and headed out in his car.

I turned to see Nelly glaring at me. "You are such a bad friend," She accused and I put my hands on my chest faking hurt.

"Oh Bae, what have I done?" I faked ignorance.

"Girl why didn't you tell me your husband was still around and I came in acting like a clown?" Nelly inquired.

"Oh! how would I know you will enter with such a mega appearance," I burst out laughing when I couldn't hold it in anymore.

"Don't give me that crap. You practically set me up," She whined.

"Girl drop it okay. You know I wouldn't do that to my only Bae in the world," I tried convincing her as I hug her from behind.

"If you weren't my 'whole Kumasi' I will have still been bored," She declared.

I gave her an appreciative smile.

"Nelly you seriously have to drop that nickname. You gave me that name years ago; upgrade it, "

"I'm not changing it. Where can I find a pretty, hot, and sexy girl like you in the whole city of Kumasi? Your guess is practically as good as mine. Nowhere. So the name is stuck," She stated.

"Hey stop flirting with me I ain't gay you know," I said playfully hitting her arm.

"I wish you were," She declared with a laugh.

"Let's go to your room and catch up."
She slapped my ass and started running inside.

"I'm going to smack your ass when I get you. So you better hide," I warned her in a playful voice.
I run after her as I scream the words.

I got to my bedroom to see her collapsed on the bed laughing heartily. I joined her on the bed breathing heavily. We lay on the bed catching up on the latest gossip. I left the bed in my closet intending to show her the latest addition to my wardrobe when she started calling my name with urgency.

"Come quickly, you don't want to miss this," She said in an excited voice.

I run up to the window where she stood looking out. I looked out not seeing anything out of place.

"What is it," I asked, looking around trying to get what was making her so excited.

"Girl are you blind," She tapped my shoulder.

"Can't you see that hot guy beside the car?" she questioned.

I looked out spotting a guy in jeans and a white shirt with a headset on.

"Nelly are you serious? How can you determine how hot a guy is from that far?" I probed.

"Girl believes me, am practically wearing a telescope that can easily sight hot guys," she said with a chuckle.
We both laughed as we continued to look out.

The guy closed his car door and started heading towards the house. All this while Nelly was giddy with excitement at the prospect of meeting the guy.
I squinted my eyes and tried to make out who the person was. Blood drained from my face when realization dawned on me.

"Are you okay? You suddenly look pale," Nelly inquired.

"I'm fine, " I gave Nelly a soft smile.

"So are you going to tell me who that is?" She asked looking at me expectantly with a raised eyebrow. Well, tha_t _is...
