The Mildew Lady was speaking before a crowd of followers at a Mildew Conference: "The mildew is so, so real. It's not something that you just imagine, and think nice thoughts about. I was once a member of the Society of Educated Clowns. If you boiled the SEC down to its spirit lady, it would not be a tiny Mildew Fairy, but as big as an elephant."
Ella Elephant was in the audience, and was proud to have her species mentioned. She thought fondly of the Mildew Lady, "That woman keeps this conference alive. Her thoughts about mildew are quite controversial, but I'll give her the benefit of the doubt." Terrence Tiger, who was sitting nearby, was not quite so impressed with the Mildew Lady, wondering if she had an ulterior motive. Something about treating mildew as a good thing didn't seem quite right to him.
