"Neveah, Neveah."

I groan from the intruder in my head and take a deep breath.

"Neveah wake up."

My eyes blink open and I hiss in pain.

"Shane." I whisper and his green eyes come into view as they gaze down at me.

"Hey, glad you're up."

"What happened?"

"House exploded. Us being the closest were thrown back the hardest and farthest. I went unconscious and I don't know what happened to you. All I know is I woke up and you didn't. Are you ok?"

"Yeah yeah, I think so." I whisper and he nods helping me sit up.

"God. I've never been in this much pain. What's the problem? We are supposed to heal and be able to withstand stuff like that. We were made exactly for those reasons."

"I don't know. I'm all healed up but you still have bruises and cuts everywhere. It's like something is delaying the action in your body." He says and I tense.

"Something like the flashing." I mutter and he looks at me.

"What?"

"Uh nothing. I'll be fine."

"Ok, come on." He says and I nod as he helps me stand up. Feeling comes back to my body and I let him go then walk down the hallway with him.

~~~
We walk into the office and I bite my lip seeing General on screen and everyone sitting around.
"Agent Williams. Are you in fair enough shape for a debriefing?"
"Yes General I'm fine."
"Very well. Agent Williams and Agent Stone please take a seat." Jackson nods us on and we walk over to the table.
Shane and I obey taking our usual seats across from each other. My ex partner Ace looks over at me but I don't look at him as his eyes linger on me.
"Explain to me how Gregory was held behind bars, in our prison, yet somehow he still succeeded to activate that bomb." She opens the conversation with.
"We're not sure." Jackson says and I step in.
"I think his gift had something to do with it." I say and she nods me on.
"You know that one of my gifts is being able to pinpoint any other men and or women like myself and Shane correct?"
"Yes Miss Williams. What are you getting at?"
"When I entered into the home there was no bomb. Atleast not a bomb placed by Gregory's hand. I would've sensed it. His aurora would have been evolving around the bomb, and anything he would have touched with or without gloves would have been picked up on my radar. That is why you guys sent me in first, so I could check everything out and scan the house."
"Continue."
"Well, that is what I did. And in the process, I figured out that Gregory is a Briard."
"What is that?" She asks and I nod over to Shane.
"Agent Stone can explain it better then I can." I say and she nods at Shane.
"A Briard is a supernatural being, man or woman, who can manipulate certain aspects on earth. Metal, liquids, air, even minds, truly anything is possible. A Briard feeds off fear, and gains power from the racing heart beats of humans. If he had contact with someone before we captured him, it is very possible he had manipulated and planned the attack. Gregory is definitely strong, it is insanely possible that he manipulated a human to do his dirty work."
"Who would you suspect he would manipulate?"
"Typically you'd look right at the wife."
"But not in this case?" She asks and Shane and I both shake our heads.
"Jocelyn knew what her husband was, she would not have looked into his eyes, unless she was suicidal or something else was going on. Neither of which we could tell through speaking to her. She hated her husband but loved her child more then words could explain. She would never do a selfish thing like that and she most definitely would not have let her daughter look into his eyes. If Gregory could manipulate them, she wouldn't want to risk it." I say and Shane nods.
"Which is why Williams here found the wife and daughter in the position they were. Jocelyn held Josephine protectively against her, her head buried in her chest. Josephine would not have been able to be manipulated, her eyes would have not once met her father's. Jocelyn kept her eyes shifted down until she saw Agent Williams. There is no way Jocelyn was manipulated either, because Agent Williams would have seen it." He finishes and I nod then continue on.
"Which is why we have come to the conclusion that it was not Jocelyn. The one manipulated was an outside force, someone we wouldn't be looking for or expecting. Gregory has manipulated someone close, but not close enough to be expected. The bomb was placed after we cleared the house, and from his cell in our facility, Gregory was able to manipulate the metal within the bomb for it to go off. He is a strong Briard, had the ability to manipulate metal and minds. Whoever was under manipulation is still quite possibly under it now. Meaning Gregory can do just as much harm from within his cell as he can if he was out." I finish and general nods at both Shane and I.
"What do you propose we do?"
"It is very reasonable to think that Gregory has more targets. I suggest you send Shane and I out into the field. We have the easiest way at tracking; our gifts will help us. This is our field, we work with the supernatural. And what we're looking at right now could be very dangerous. Whoever Gregory has manipulated is not done yet, because Gregory is not done yet."
"How can you be sure though? How do you know there is another target?" She asks.
"Call it a gut feeling." I say remembering the flash of a young girl burning in a fire. A fire set by a gas leak.
"General, I can't send two of my best Agents and Trackers out into the field searching for something that might not even exist." Jackson cuts in
"And you can't sit back and let Gregory harm more people from behind bars. If you do, that means he's won. I know it's sketchy, but I also know my gut is usually right and something tells me that there is another target." I say back to him, he sighs.
"This is bizarre Neveah." He says and I bite my lip.
I have a lot of respect for Jackson, he is our leader. He has practically raised me since I was fifteen. Though we don't always agree or work the same I am glad to have him. We argue a lot, but that's because I see him as a father. He's a great teacher and an amazing person, but supernatural is not his field. That's where Shane and I come in. We know the supernatural, we are the supernatural.
"I mean no disrespect to you Jackson, but supernatural is my and Shane's field. You know this." I say
"How are you going to find them?" He asks and I smirk.
"We're your best trackers. You said it yourself. Leave that to us." I say and he looks between us then turns back to the General.
"I release them to your decision." Jackson says and I nod my thanks looking back at General.
"I will let you two go on one condition... Agent Shawl goes with you." She says and I pale.
"General that is not necessary. I mean no disrespect, but this isn't his field either. Atleast not anymore." I try to reason.
"I understand your concerns Miss Williams, but he knows this city better then both you and Agent Stone. I am sending both you and Shane, because I know what you two are capable of together." She says and I bite my lip.
"Agent Shawl will be going with you." She finishes.
"Yes General." Ace says looking over at me.
"Very well then. Get a good nights sleep, you leave tomorrow." She says then the screen shuts off.
"I want to have a small chat with Gregory first." I mutter then stand up and leave the room.
