I found myself grinning like an idiot just because of the text that he sent me, a warm feeling playing in my stomach. It meant a lot to me that he noticed my absence and had the urge to check on me.

“Morning. I’m alright, just woke up a little too late. xx”

I put my phone down not expecting any answer since they were in classes by now and started tying the laces of my converse. However, seconds later my phone buzzed signaling that I had a text that happened to be from Harry.

“Are you still home? x –Harry”

“Yes, but I’m going to take a bus and I’ll be there in 20 minutes or something. x”

I reached for my keys but couldn’t find them anywhere. Why does it always happens when I’m late?!

I practically ran into the living room checking the coffee table, the couch, the floor but the keys were nowhere to be found. After going though the kitchen and checking my bag another time I finally found the keys on the table in my room.

I put the strap of my bag over my shoulder and grabbed my phone before opening the door and stepping outside.

“I’m picking you up. xx –Harry”

My eyes widened at the text. How easily he could just drop school just to pick me up, skipping sure wasn’t a big deal for him. Secretly I was happy though, because I knew that he would do that for me.

“No, you can’t just leave school like that! Stay there Harry.”

I made sure to not add any ‘x’ so he could understand how serious I was.

“I’m on my way, baby. Be there in 10. Xx  -Harry”

I groaned at his stubbornness. I didn’t want him to get in trouble because of me. But being caught skipping seemed to be the last of his worries.

I locked the door and sat on my doorstep patiently waiting for Harry and soon enough his Range Rover reached my neighborhood.

“Hi babe.” He smiled as I got in his car.

“You shouldn’t have left school, I would’ve taken a bus.” I said seriously.

“But it’s faster and safer if I drive you.”

“But I don’t want you to get in trouble, Harry.” I said frowning.

“I won’t get in trouble, love.” He said cutting the distance between us, pressing his lips to mine. Harry smiled trough the kiss as I kissed back, not being able to resist. Slowly pulling back our lips still brushed.

“Thank you.” I whispered pulling back completely.

We reached school and I couldn’t help but notice the stares we were getting. People seemed to get used to see us together so I didn’t understand why they were staring. I subconsciously reached for Harry’s hand intertwining our fingers. He noticed my nervousness and kissed the top of my head as we walked further into the school. I looked up at him and noticed that the bruises were still visible on his skin, which explained the stares.

We reached my locker and I put the books that I wouldn’t need yet, closing it afterwards.

“I’m gonna go now baby, see you at lunch, okay?

I was startled for a second, but turned around to see Eleanor approaching us. Turning back to face Harry I sighed.

“You really don’t like my friends, do you?” I smiled weakly.

“It’s not that Mel, I just really have to go.”

I knew that it wasn’t true, he just didn’t like my friends’ company but I wasn’t planning on forcing him to stay knowing that he would be uncomfortable here.

“Alright.” I stood on my tip-toes and planted a kiss on his soft, addicting lips.

“See you later?” He whispered against my lips.

“Mhmm.” I smiled before he pecked my lips one last time and left.

I turned around to see the one and only Eleanor Calder with a smirk on her face.

“Hey there girl.” She said engulfing me in a hug.

“Hi love.” I smiled, pulling away.

“You lover boy left in the middle of the class, so I suppose that he went to pick you up?” She smirked.

I couldn’t help but blush at the words your lover boy, but decided to ignore it.

“Yes. I told him not to but there’s no point in arguing with him, he always wins.” I sighed.

“That’s so cute!” She squealed.

My cheeks were definitely a share of pink so I looked down as we walked to our next class.

I was listening to the teacher when I felt Eleanor elbowing my side.

“Hm?” I turned to her.

“What- what happened to Harry’s face?” She asked quietly.

I wasn’t expecting that question, but the answer was pretty obvious.

“He got into a fight.”

“Oh.” She looked away uneasily.

“It wasn’t his fault though.” I defended him, “They started it.”

She just nodded.

“El” I sighed, “he’s a good guy. You just need to give him a chance.” I whispered.

She looked at me and smiled. “I will.”

Her answer made me smile too.

“I’m assuming that he’s coming with us on Friday?” Her smile turned into a smirk.

It was funny how she disliked or even feared him, but wanted us together at the same time.

“Yeah, about that” I looked away.

“It’s okay that he’s coming, maybe he’ll prove us wrong.”

I could tell that she genuinely wanted him to prove them wrong, she wanted the tension between him and the group to disappear because she knew how much it meant to me.

I smiled widely and nodded.

“Oh, and…” I started looking down, “I’ll be staying at his after the club, but my parents wouldn’t allow that so I thought that I would tell them that I’m staying at yours.” I spoke shyly. “Is that okay?” I looked up at her.

“Of course,” She said excitedly. “Just warning you that I’ll be expecting details and don’t have too much fun.” She teased.

Sorry for any mistakes, also sorry that it's quite short.
