I get up and put on my denim jeans a t-shirt and pull my flannel over it then shove my boots on. Jared looks me over and chuckles.

Going country today?

I snicker and we head out but I jump in my truck.

Don't you want to ride together?

I smile as I shake my head.

I have some things to do. Plus I have to meet the realtor while you're warming up for your game.

He nods understanding.

Oh, okay. I'll see you there.

I park then see Will and Kimmie kissing against his truck. My stomach twist but I remind myself that he's not mine. Jared walks over when I open my door so I hop out but Jared looks at Will and huffs.

Who would've ever thought that Will could tame the infamous Kimmie.

I look at him confused

What do you mean?

He chuckles then nods toward them.

Kimmie's been with nearly every guy in this school. She's never stayed with one person for over a day. She's been with Will for two now. So she must like him or whatever he gave her one.

I elbow him then.

You're gross, come on.

I look at Will and frown then quickly look away when he looks at me. Jared wraps his arm over my shoulder so I lay my head on him as he kisses my head squeezing me to his side. We pass Tanner and Amber then Erik at his door who watches us then Maddie runs over rattling on about the sleepover. Jared leans over whispering for me to text him if I need to get away. I smile and nod as he walks off but Maddie looks at him then me.

Are you dating Jared?

I shake my head.

No, we're just friends.

I tell her as we walk to our classes. Jared sits next to me but Mr. burns make him get up and read off some of his work to the class. It's a good thing I helped him. He had most of it wrong before. Mr. Burns being impressed allows him to sit then makes Cole take his place because Cole keeps asking questions to mess him up. Thankfully Jared has the correct answers. Unfortunately for Cole he doesn't. After class Jared and I walk to second period seeing Kimmie clinging to Will. I scowl and wrap my arm around Jared sticking my thumb through his belt loop as he wraps his arm over me rubbing my shoulder getting Will's and Tanner's attention as I look up at him

I think we're making others jealous that I'm holding you. They'd really get upset if you hold me.

He smiles and kisses my forehead.

I got you sugar lips.

He lowers his arm holding my waist as he talks to his friend Leon and we get closer to the guys and our class.

Well we have to go. Come on sugar lips.

Leon walks off as I look up at him.

I told you last night not to call me that at school.

He chuckles sounding amused.

Sorry baby. You just taste good.

I giggle as we walk into class and sit down. Then I get a text from Will.

We have to talk!

I huff.

Talk to your girlfriend! Oh yeah you forgot to tell me about that right. Well I figured it out!
