Chapter 21 ~ Anything Could Happen

Ryley is mentoring Nellie for Regionals.
"So who's the lead now?" Ryley asks Nellie.
"Aylin." Nellie says.
"Why not you? You're really talented Nellie." Ryley says.
"Yeah but Mr Schue doesn't see that. He doesn't really listen to me." Nellie says.
"What have you been trying to tell him?"
"I wrote a song."
"What's it called?"
"Lights and I want to perform for Regionals for the solo but Aylin's got the solo."
"Maybe I'll talk to Mr Schue," Ryley says, "Do you have a copy of the song on you?"
Nellie takes a folded up piece of paper out of her pocket and passes it to Ryley. Ryley unfolds it and reads the lyrics on the paper.
"This is good." Ryley says and passes it back to Nellie.
"Thanks." Nellie smiles.
"I'll talk to Mr Schue when I get the chance." Ryley says.

"Mr Schue, Nellie's talent is wasted this year. You should give her the solo for Regionals." Ryley says, following Will down the hallway.
"No. Aylin is singing an acoustic cover of The One That Got Away then it's a group number of My Life Would Suck Without You." Will says.
"Nellie actually wrote a song for Regionals but you don't listen to her."
"I listen to all my students."
"Well, you don't listen to Nellie." Ryley says and storms off.

"I've had a change in set list guys." Will says in Glee Club.
"I've got another solo?" Aylin asks.
"No. You aren't singing your solo anymore, Aylin," Will says with a smile, "Nellie, I've heard you wrote a song. I want you to perform that song for Regionals."
Nellie looks shocked but gets a hug from her boyfriend, Michael and a kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you, Mr Schue." Nellie says.
"You shouldn't be thanking me; thank Ms Ryley Bridges for you getting the solo." Will says.
Nellie looks over at Ryley who's standing next to Ryder and Marley on the piano, "Thank you Ryley."
"You're welcome." Ryley says with a smile.

Marley's alone on stage. Music is heard.
