Wu Xie just blackly stared back at him. Allowing Qiling full access of his neck, while he covered patches of his skin in mud. Moving Wu Xies head ever so slightly to properly reach the other side of his chin too.

After that he noticed the low humming of Qilings voice, not understanding what he had said. Wu Xie only remembered the apology – after suddenly getting a bunch of mud in, well under his face.

"I - It's - It's fine.", he stumbled through the sentence. Not even really noticing Qiling face scrunching up in worry. Only feeling when Qiling stepped back, warmth ghosting across his forehead and again the low humming of his voice.

Wu Xie noticed that Fatty suddenly appeared next to Qiling, one of his hands resting on his shoulder. Just then his loud voice boomed and smashed through all the barriers.

"- crashed give him a minute to reboot and everything's gonna be just fine." Wu Xie watched as Fatty slapped Qilings shoulder looking like an unpracticed trial to – comfort Qiling? Weird.

Wu Xie still felt frozen in his own body. Was it because he couldn't move or because he just didn't? He probably should try to do something.

"Will you also check if my skin is properly covered?" Fatty said, trying to get Qilings frowning eyes away from Wu Xie for a bit.

"I trust" Qilings voice obviously sounded absentminded – so much that even Wu Xie noticed it in his somewhat frozen mind. He wouldn't even be able to find words for how relived he felt for being able to understand Qiling again. "you can do it on your own."

"Ayoo", Fatty whined – in a way that made clear he would put on a show of complaining until someone gave him what he wanted. "we've been friends for a long time. And yet, you are always so one sidedly caring for mainly Wu Xie."

It was something Fatty just did every now and then. But the thing that Wu Xie really noticed this time was that he didn't hear a single word about how much such a behavior hurt him and how lowly he felt.

And really that was a good thing. If Wu Xie had heard it, in this mist – under this curse of truth – he seriously would have worried. At least he wouldn't have to worry about being a bad friend. But Fattys words still were odd. He shouldn't have been able to say that Qiling was caring so much for him unless – Fatty really fealt that way.

After hearing those words Qiling finally pulled his gaze away from Wu Xie to look at Fatty.

"That is –" silence. Qilings voice just dropped at this point, like he just suddenly decided not to speak. After a moment he started speaking again. "I would also tell you when I see you missing a spot."

"Yea" Fatty said, sounding weirdly pleased. "Tell me. But everything else is soly reserved for your young master. – I dare you to tell me I'm wrong."

Wu Xie couldn't follow any more – what ever this really was about, at this moment their conversation was utterly lost on him. Maybe he would try and think about the meaning of all this later.
