Not only that. Wu Xie knew that asking a question under their circumstances was not optimal to say the least but it had been something private he had asked for. Something with all his worrying – Qiling still hadn't said a word about it.

And Wu Xie knew that he had noticed. The way he had decided to hide as much of the bandage as possible earlier – after his concern about it had been plain to see on his face. Normally, Qiling would have said a word about it, but he hadn't.

He hadn't, but now – Wu Xie had taken the choice from him. With this mist – he had forced him to answer. That was horrible – he was horrible.

Wu Xie curled into himself, not daring to even look into Qilings direction. He was a bad friend. How could he behave like that, taking Qilings choice away. Overstepping, when he knew – heard about the times when no one had cared about what Qiling wanted.

"I don't know" after a moment Qilings voice interrupted his silent chastisement.

"What?" hearing himself again, without consciously asking. Horrible friend, how Qiling hadn't just turned and left him behind was beyond him.

He had to stay quiet. Wu Xie pushed both his hands on his mouth, he will stay quiet even when he had to muffle himself by force.

"I promised not to take the bandage of unless the wound is completely healed. I don't know if it is completely healed, so I won't take it off."

Was that really it? Wu Xie wondered. Relived when he noticed that it hadn't reached the ears of Qiling and Fatty.

"Don't be so distraught about it Wu Xie." Of course Fatty had noticed his state of mind, at least somewhat. It seemed like he had somewhat misinterpreted it.

"Qiling is just being a stubborn idiot." Wu Xie desperately wanted to tell Fatty that Qiling wasn't an idiot. It was a way too mundane to describe Qiling in any way even as an insult. And Wu Xie knew it wasn't really meant as an insult.

"The wound is healed isn't it, Qiling?" Fatty asked casually. Wu Xie's muffled outraged cry of 'Fatty' was loud enough that it could he heard. Not really understood, syllable for syllable but the intent was clear.

How could he? Wu Xie over stepping was bad enough, but Fatty had done in fully on purpose.

"It should be." It seemed like Qiling somewhat gave in to whatever Fatty was doing. "But I can't see it. So, I can't be absolutely sure that it is completely healed." It didn't sound like an answer that was just blurred out, it sounded like something he had somewhat thought about.

After a breath Qiling added "I promised – I don't want to break it."

Wu Xie thought for a moment. Had he made Qiling promise him? In the state of mind, he had been in he thought that he might have – but he couldn't really remember what exactly he had said.

Then Qiling was suddenly kneeling in front of him. Wu Xie shifted his eyes away. The way he had treated him so horribly, forcing Qiling ...

Feeling Qilings fingers on his wrist gently pulling his hands from his mouth. "Wu Xie" his name sounded so gentle spoken in his voice that he wished he could hear him call him for eternity. "Let me hear your voice. What is the matter?"
