Wu Xi did notice Zhang Qi Ling following him. But he didn't turn around. He made his way to the wall that was vegetated by moss and various kinds of other plants.

With Zhang Qi Ling around he needn't care about other things, Wu Xi knew this very well. He had been dragged away from the danger zone often enough by him to not only trust him. He knew for sure that Qi Ling would keep him save wile he could explore the history left behind at this place.

While taking out his hunting knife to carefully clean the wall up Wu Xi took a glance in Qi Lings direction. A almost hidden smile washed over Wu Xis lips when he noticed Zhang Qi Ling standing in the shadow of a pillar only a few feet away.

All worries just fell of his shoulders and Wu Xi put himself to work. It took a while to clean the whole wall up but when he finally finished, we would know more about this place. Brimming with anticipation of the story Wu Xi put his knife away.

This time he needn't even look to know that Zhang was still watching over him. He could almost feel him standing there. As unmoving as ever, he was observing what is happening. Situations like this always felt like he was wearing a warm coat on a cold winter day.

Wu Xi knew fully well that he was crushing on the Zhang Qi Ling. The mysterious tomb raiding expert who for some reason was additionally extremely hot. So unfair, Wu Xi truly pitied his own fate.

Ever since he got to know the notoriously silent man, every other human seemed to be so unbelievably ordinary. No different between males and females. Whoever moved like a god before was now merely walking, no one could come even close to Zhang Qi Lings elegance.

And he Wu Xi was a stumbling mess, barely able to walk on his to feet. Wu Xi just knew that when he wanted to continue seeing Zhang Qi Ling he had to make himself useful on expeditions. He knew very well that he was only protected right now.

As much as Wu Xi would love to dream about Zhang Qi Ling crossing the distance between then and then kissing him senseless, like right here and now, this would never happen. So Wu Xis only option was to not embarrassed himself and translate the glyphs.

Its not like it was really work he didn't like, he actually really enjoyed it. But if Wu Xi had to decide between a kiss and the glyphs, ...

Well, no need to dream even further, Wu Xi was sure it would never happen so he had already decided to at least have a friendship with Zhang Qi Ling.

Wu Xi slowly put his hand on top of the first glyph on the wall more to ground himself that to rede. He closed his eyes and slowly breathed a few times. Trying to banish Zhang Qi Ling from his thoughts as much as possible, until only the pleasant warmth remained.

Then Wu Xi solely concentrated on the writing in front of him. Lucily, Wu Xi noticed that the writing was a scripture he was rather well-versed in. So the translation shouldn't take too long. Already knowing that after dinner he will be sitting near the fire and writing all information down into his own notebook.

Uncovering the meaning of ancient glyphs was never as easy as one thinks. One sign has a multitude of meanings and it will always depend on the context. Sometimes parts of the writing were destroyed of weathered so much that it can become very hard to find the outline, sometimes more guessing than seeing the symbols.

These glyphs were surprisingly well preserved. Wu Xi noticed, while he tried to read the story of the place. It's surprisingly a good story. Wu Xi grinned at the thought that he had found a new gem for his collection.
