But the heart of the Temple it just had to be an underground structure again. With the graving like this it would mean that the mountain was the power backing the priestess. But this was probably only the case on the surface for people who didn't know the story behind this place.

Wu Xi could still remember the glyphs he had translated the day before. That with the shed blood of the winged snake its power of truth had seeped into the earth turning its burial ground into the temple of truth.

If that was the believe of the people, it wasn't the mountain that was backing the priestess but the power of the winged snake within the mountain. The artists that engraved the picture here where either not allowed to grave the winged snake deity or to afraid to do so after all they probably still feared the wrath of its mother.

With the story like this the heart of the temple could only be inside the mountain. Not only that it was most likely also the grave of the winged snake. After all the higher up one is in a temple the closer one is allowed to get to the heart of the temple. The graving clearly showed only the female with the mountain.

Wu Xi sight again. So, this time he would have to enter the grave build for the winged snake deity. A being that was believed to be only beneath the gods. A deity's resting place would be no easy matter. It must be full of traps and other deadly mechanism the best artisans of their time could think of.

And Wu Xi knew all to well that a grave like this wasn't to be underestimated. He had been in several graves before that had been untouched for millennias. They had already been deadly and those graves where the ones of humans of artisans and royalty and kings not the likes of a deity.

And Wu Xi was probably the only one who knew about this. He had told the others that the child was descripted as dragon like not that it was the child of a goddess.

Should he warn his friends and his uncle that they should be extra careful this time?

No, warning his uncle wasn't needed. Wu Xi knows this old fox all too well, he had probably figured out that this wasn't some kind of normal expedition long ago. His uncle was very likely to have a good idea of the danger level form the story Wu Xi had tould the tea yesterday.

Wu Xi would only ruffle some feathers if he acted like this, and someone came to overhear him.

Wu Xi sighted once again. At least he would have a bit of rest before they had to enter this grave. It wound be an easy matter, he was sure of this. He just had to take care that he was well rested and be damn careful once he was inside.

Once inside Wu Xi knew well that it would beevery man for himself. Well, there are a few once that were trust worthy.
