Behind her red eyes, Part two

Sebastian's POV

It had been an hour since Ominis and I heard or even seen Y/N that we agreed to search for her before dinner, "do you think she's still in the library?" Ominis asked as we walked out of the transfiguration class room, "it's a possibility but she's been avoiding everyone so perhaps she's gone to the undercroft" "I'll head there now you see if she's left the library yet and we'll met in the undercroft later" "right" I took off in the opposite direction to central hall and down the stairs towards the door to the library, I walked passed Scribner who was looking sour at a couple of hufflepuff boys who were grouped around a small table look sheepish, I walked along the shelves passing students who were studying in silence or pretending too, once I made my way around the library I stopped dead "ah taking a leaf out of my book are we" I saw her she was passing up and down the small hall way of the restricted section I had glimpsed her robes for a slight moment before she disappeared down the stairs, I walked slowly towards the gate and opened it quickly looking around to see if anyone was watching then disappeared down the stairs.

Y/N had walked down to the basement of the restricted section I could hear muttering as she had placed a very heavy book on a plinth and arched over it her hands over the edge her knuckles very pale, I walked slowly behind her listening to her muttering "no that's not it oh come on I need to know how it's was triggered" she turned the page frantically then turned more pages her body tensing "Oh useless piece of-" studying hard I see" I walked behind her and she slammed the book shut out of surprise "oh it's you" she relaxed and tried covering the book's title "eh you care to explain" I said snatching the book out of her hand "no wait Sebastian I-" Maledictus transformations?" I raised and eyebrow at the book "but that's a blood curse what are you" she snatched the book back and slammed it on the plinth "I know what it is" she leaned over the book again breathing heavily and she closed her eyes "then why are you" "JUST LEAVE ME ALONE PLEASE" she didn't look at me she was she now shaking from head to toe grips the edges of the plinth again, then she took a deep breath and exhaled slowly "I'm sorry I didn't mean to.. I'm just trying to find answers and this isn't helping" I appreciated the book and opened it, pictures of human and animal hybrids covered the pages with small details and diagrams the men and women all looked like they were in pain "what exactly are you looking for?" I asked, she didn't answer straight away but out a hand in her front pocket of her robes and pulled out a folded up piece of paper and handed it to me, I opened it, it was black and white moving picture of a tall long haired woman surrounded by a large crowd behind a large cage, the woman looked to be wearing a dragon leathered body suits but it looked like it was sown into her skin, she looked grim "she looks reasonably happy" I joked Y/N took another deep breath and said quietly "that's my mother" "oh um well you've definitely got her looks" she looked at me sideways still leaning over the book "this was taken before she was offended a job in the Ministry to work side by side with my father" I raised an eyebrow "and she worked as a dragon tamer" I asked looking back at the picture, the woman was expressionless her hair covers most of her face but she moved it out of the way to show her face had be slashed cross it "no" Y/N straightened up and looked at me fear in her face, she looked as if she was hesitant to say something "She was the dragon".

There was a long pause as I stared from the photo to Y/N speechless, then finally as if she was pulling my leg I said "ha eh your kidding right, but how did you, when did this, what?" My head was starting to hurt now, Y/N took the picture from my hands and looked longing at it, "ever since I came to this school and when I had the spare time to look I found out for myself if it was possible" I raised an eyebrow at her as she continued to stare at the image "if what was possible?" I asked trying not to sound insulting "well I am not sure just yet that's why I'm searching in here, if my theory is correct, and I'm not sure that it is, then The current and rapid events throughout these last few days have triggered something from the inside, something i didn't think was possible at first... until my birthday" she looked at me her eyes glowing in the dimly lit room "wait you think I I mean we triggered something when we-" no" she said abruptly "nothing like that I mean maybe I don't know it all happened so fast my body was still adjusting from everything I think it needed to break down just enough to make it's way out some how" "I don't follow" Y/N closed her eyes then reopened then and grabbed both my shoulder looking deep into my eyes "please don't freak out but there is a very high possibility that I've inherited my mothers blood curse" my eyes widened and it was if she knew my reaction straight away and let go of me very suddenly and backed away wrapping her arms around herself "wait so.. so when you were engulfed in flames that was" "the first stage of the transformation, yes" "but there are two more stages to go and I have this terrible feeling that they will come very soon and I don't think I'll be able to continue my life here" "your not leaving are you" she back away slowly now still holding herself "I can't stay here you don't understand you and everyone I care about will be in danger" "but there has to be something we can do right I mean" I frantically looked at book and started flicking through pages "Sebastian" but I wasn't listening my hands were not over the edge of the plinth staring hopelessly at the page she was on looking for an answer "Sebastian it's not use I've looked I know there is no cure for this" "no there has to be away, you can't leave I won't let you" I slammed my hands on the book in frustration and saw in the corner of my eye Y/N jump slightly hitting a suit of armour behind her in fright, then I turned to her, she looked even more paler then usual "it says here there are side effects" I said quietly, approaching her slowly "yes" she replied nodding her head and looking down at her feet as I walked closer to her "lack of sleep" she nodded " recurring nightmares" she closed her eyes and nodded again "lose of appetite" her hands squeezed her shoulders and she trying not to look up at me as I was now right in front of her, "high testosterone levels " she blushed red at my words as I lift her chin up to look at me "I think that one's my favourite" she smiled "so you have a few symptoms but not All of them, you don't have to leave" she took my hand away from her face and looked at me "Sebastian I don't want to hurt you or anyone" I put my hand on the side of her cheek and pushed back hair, I could hear her breathing quickening at my touch, "your not going to, and if you did I'll still be here right beside you the whole time, so please don't leave" she closed her eyes and sighed "very well but I must inform my father of this news" I quickly lets her go "so you think it's wise" she nodded "yes I do, he was the only one who was able to understand my mother's magical abilities he might be able to give me a better view of the situation, I just hope he understands" she grabbed my hands "I promise I won't leave" I smiled at her and then my hands were cupping her face moving her closer to mine and our lips brushed against each other "OOO MISSY MISSY KISSY KISSY WHO DO WE HAVE HERE" it was peeves the hogwarts poltergeist zooming around the room making the suit of armour next to us rattle threateningly "Ah bug off you pestering poltergeist" but peeves zoomed around our heads and started throwing books and rolled up pieces of punishment at us from the shelves and we retreated out of the basement, up the stairs and out of the library as the Peeves hovered over us cackling madly now throwing books at the students who were reading and cursing at him.
