The death day party part two

Start from the beginning

Ominis and I waited at the entrance of the dungeon for any signs of Y/N however a few students came downstairs including a few Gryffindor seventh years I didn't know and Garreth followed by "Poppy your here too" she smiled and greeted me and Ominis she was wearing a yellow dress with sunflower stockings "oh hello Sebastian, Ominis I heard you too were coming" Garreth came up from behind Poppy and took her hand "oh yes should probably mention Garreth and I are dating" I folded my arms frowning at Garreth "listen I spoke to Y/N and-"oh you did now, then tell me Weasley what exactly did you talk to Y/N about" Garreth went slightly red Poppy on the other hand patted Garreth on the shoulder "we that is to say Y/N have come to an understanding, I have said some not so smart things" "Ha yeah you got that right" "she's given me a second chance to make it up to her, I'm done by best to stop the rumours I spread around the school and have set things straight, I was an idiot and I apologise" I unfolded my arms "alright but if I hear a single disgusting story about her again I'll kick your ass" Garreth laughed under his breath and he and Poppy wondered over to one of the small tables, I straightened my suit jacket and looked at my pocket watch "it's getting late where is she" at my words another unfriendly face appeared down the staircase it was Leander I scaled at him as he passed by and watched him walk over to the table with Poppy and Garreth "Prick why is he here anyway" "who?" Ominis said quickly "It's not Imelda?" "No calm down Prewett just arrived looking like a git as always" then suddenly a noise of heels descending the stairs well reached my ears.

The whole room felt like it had gone quite that or I had gone deaf from the moment Y/N walked down the stairs her long hair tied in a messy bun and a few strands of hair hanging out her face glowing bright even in this dark and slightly dimly lit room which now felt warm despite the many cold transparent souls gliding around the room, her dress was just barely touching the ground the red of her dress matched her lipstick

"Wow you look... stunning" she smiled "thank you Sebastian you don't look so bad yourself" she tweaked my tie then she turned to Ominis who looked bored "your looking very lively tonight Ominis" Ominis pulled himself together and replied "thank you I'd say the same but under the unfortunate circumstances" Y/N laughed and looked around "very crowded despite it only being filled with ghosts" "oh did no one tell you we have living guest too" I pointed in the Direction of Garreth, Poppy and Leander and the four Gryffindor boys "oh no" Y/N hid behind me her hand on my arm "what's up I thought you and Weasley were on speaking terms or have I been punked?" "No those seventh year boys those were the ones who cornered me on my first day back" I looked over the four boys were laughing while staring at the woman who had glided passed angrily a few moments ago "ah well many it's about time gave them a friendly hello then" i pulled out my wand "NO don't you'll just make it worse just leave it" i looked into her pleading eyes then put my wand back inside my jacket "aw fine I swear I'm a sucker for those eyes" I went red the moment I said it "What?" "Eh nothing shall we" forcing myself not to look directly at Y/N we walked over to the tables latent with food, "I was wondering what the smell was" Y/N said pinching her nose and picking up a plate of rotten cabbage " disgusting" she put the plate down and walked away from the table towards Poppy as I was about to follow Ominis grabbed my arm "I've all ready told you Imelda isn't here" Ominis let go of my arm "I don't care about that right now what's going on with you and Y/N?" I raised an eyebrow "eh ha what do you mean?" Ominis shook his head in annoyance "never mind just don't do anything stupid" I smiled "ah but stupid is my second favourite thing to do during pastime" Ominis walked away his wand out in front of him the red tip glowing slightly in the dim light.

I approached the table where Poppy and Y/N were in deep conversation "so let me get this straight you brought the dress then you had to go back and altar it?" Y/N nodded as though slightly ashamed "they couldn't do anything so I had to get a cor-... oh hey look who decided to join us" Y/N moved a small glass of fire whiskey in front of me "feeling a bit adventurous are we" I smiled at her as she took a sip of her own drink "taste better then what they've had proposed over there can tell you that much" I took the glass and drank, it burned my throat and I coughed slightly "sorry been awhile since I've touched the stuff" Poppy raised an eyebrow "is this not your first drink Sebastian" I took another sip as she spoke and saw that Y/N was eyeing me curiously "eh no" Leander snorted into his own glass "no surprises there" Garreth elbowed Leander and he spilt his drink down his front "can see it's your first time Prewett would of though a stiff drink would help you force your aim in summoners court" Garreth laughed "he's got ya there mate" Leander looked furious which made me smile "how's your sister Sallow heard she left Feldcroft" a fire inside me burned that had nothing to do with fire whiskey" "Shut up Leander" I looked at Y/N she was red in the face with anger and was staring at Leander with hatred, this seemed to cool down my insides, Leander shrugged and walked away "Sorry about him, he's been a bit testy since last weeks cross wands match lost five times to a few Hufflepuff third years" Garreth sniggered "and what exactly is so funny about a Hufflepuff besting a deal with a Gryffindor" said Poppy folding her arms and squinting at Garreth who looked slightly abashed "I didn't mean anything nasty to be honest it was actually quite impressive" Poppy relaxed her arms and took a spit of her drink, it seemed the glass were enchanted to refill itself once the drinker reached the bottom of the glass.

After a hour of talking about the upcoming quidditch match, and Poppy's very long rant about poachers being spotted at Hogsmeade, I found myself drifting away from the conversation slightly and was only brought back to earth " Sebastian? Hello you in there" someone had clicked there fingers into my face and I shook my head "what oh hey what's up?" It took a few seconds to realise that Poppy and Garreth had left the table and were dancing with the many ghosts in the middle of the room, Y/N was still sanding next me looking perplexed "I just asked you where Ominis went off to?" I blinked and looked around, Ominis was in deep conversation with a couple of haughty looking ghosts wearing chains around their bodies and were all very interested in what Ominis was talking about "it looks like he's the life of the party, so to speak" I smiled he really did seem to be enjoying himself, I looked back at Y/N she was watching Poppy and Garreth dance slowly surrounded by many ghosts who were waltzing above them, I could look at her for hours she seemed to glow before my very eyes it seemed to hurt and yet I dare not look away, I did my best to keep my hands busy or they would be in danger of straying away to hold her hand to touch her very skin was tormenting me, she took a spit of her drink and I watch as though in slow motion her lips part slightly in the glass, my body shook slightly why was I torturing myself like this, she set the glass down and my eyes fell on her wrists, the cuts were still clearly visible and I knew why she hadn't gone to any lengths to remove them she had mentioned only last year that every mark, every scratch and every scar was lesson to learn from, how I saw them as memories of failure, failure to protect someone who I cared about, failure to admit my deepest longing for the woman standing beside me.
