"L" Mom says, we were doing this game we always do when someone needs to clean the refrigerator
"Laryngitis." Rory replies "m"
"Mumps" I respond as it was my turn. "N"
"Narcolepsy." Mom says "O"
"Are we gonna have to do this every time we decide on who has to clean out the refrigerator?" Rory asks
"You wanna go back to thumb wrestling?" Mom questions
"Yes, I always won." I say and smirk
"We'll, I don't, so, osteoporosis." Rory says. "P"
"Puppies!" Mom shouts and runs towards the puppies.
"That's not a disease." Rory points out
"Oh, boy." I sigh and look at rory.
"Hi, oh, hi." Mom greets the puppies. "Girls Look at the baby!"
"Mom..." rory starts
"Aww, buttercup was found, cold and wet, hovering under a hydrangea bush along highway 26! It's a sad highway!" Mom exclaims
"As compared to all the happy highways she could have been abandoned by?" Rory asks
"Her lineage included cocker spaniel, golden retriever, bouvier des flandres."
"Gesundheit." I say
"Thank you... and Rottweiler." Mom finishes
"Buttercup is a special dog. She is extremely skittish and tends to react badly towards blond haired females, brunette males, children of either sex, other animals, red clothing, cabbage or anyone in a uniform." Rory states reading off of a sheet of paper.
"Hey we just found the doggy version of you." I joke as Luke approaches us.
"Can I help you?" A man came up to us.
"Do not let these three anywhere near a dog. They can barely feed themselves." Luke suggests to the guy.
"Shut up you! We would en excellent pet owners, thank you."
"You cannot be serious." Rory tells mom
"We can get him a pretty bowl-"
"-It's a her" Rory cuts mom off
"And a new name."
"Mom."
"Cause this buttercup has to go." Mom says
"Do we need to remind you of skippy?" I ask
"Skippy?" Luke questions
"I can't believe you would bring up skippy."
"Skippy was our hamster." Rory explains to Luke.
"He doesn't care!"
"What happened to skippy?"
"Nothing happened to skippy." Mom says quickly.
"Every time mom would put her hand in his cage he would bite her." I explain
"And laugh." Mom adds
"Hamsters can't laugh." Luke states
"Oh, this one laughed. Trust me."
"So finally she got fed up." Rory started
"Of being laughed at by a hamster?"
"Well Yeah." Mom says in an obvious tone.
